PRP injections have been very popular at our office for treatment of male and female hair loss and hair thinning. Many studies in the last several years show a positive effect of PRP treatment for hair loss due to androgenic alopecia without major side effects, and many more studies continue to be published. It's a trending treatment option and I love recommending it since my staff and I utilize this treatment for ourselves. PRP can be great for your hair and will still be beneficial if you do nothing after your treatment. However, our office recommends taking Viviscal (Professionl Strength ) or Nutrafol, an oral supplement with nutrients to promote hair health. This is taken 1-2 times a day in conjunction with PRP treatments. With that being said, there are many lifestyle factors that could encourage healthy hair growth. I would be cautious with hair oils and checking ingredients since any preservatives, fragrances, or other allergens in hair products may irritate your hair. Any sudden and unexpected hair loss should be evaluated by your primary healthcare provider.
Hi, Thank you for the question. As far as hair is concerned, Multiple modalities are recommended to see improvement in hair growth. PRP alone is not sufficient. You need to use minoxidil and a DHT blocker which will enhance the results of PRP. Good luck.
Thank you for your question. In addition to PRP injections, I recommend low level laser therapy, minoxidil, finasteride (either oral or topical). If you hair loss is long standing and extensive, your response to these interventions will be much more limited.I hope this was helpful - Dr. Moore.

I believe Manual PRP is better because the depth is more controlled allowing me to bathe my patient's follicles in growth factors. That being said, the type of PRP is probably more important than the injection technique. Every system to make PRP is quite different. Best of luck!
