I had juvederm ultra plus injected directly below my eye brows for a flattening brow. It is four months later and I notice the product wearing off as my brow is flattening, however my eyelids now have a swollen appearance at the inner corners of my eye. I can see lumps under the skin when I pull my eyelid skin taut. I realize that often the answer is you "probably had this hooding/ puffiness before" but it truly wasn't there prior to injection. Any thoughts?

Answer: Juvederm to brow Juvederm is probably not going to move from the outer brow to the inner area of the eyelid - if that is where you had it injected. However Juvederm is very hydrophilic - it absorbs water - so the surrounding areas may get edematous. At 4 months you would still have juvederm in there. Go back to your injector - if it is edema you should try getting the Juvederm out with some hyaluronidase injections.

Answer: Juvederm migration Fillers injected into the right place generally don't move over time, however, eyebrow and eyelid regions have very delicate tissues and muscles. Juvéderm can be an excellent product to lift and shape the brow but sometimes it can cause lumps under the skin. If your doctor is unable to give you a satisfactory answer I would get a second opinion ideally from an oculoplastic surgeon who specializes in using fillers around the eyes. The good news is Juvéderm can be dissolved with hyaluronidase. Sometimes adding a little bit of neurotoxin to the brow depressor muscles can help change the shape as well and you may not need to dissolve the Juvéderm. If Juvéderm has not been helpful, there are other options for brow lifting such as Ultherapy and ThermiSmooth.
