Can nose columella be raised using closed rhinoplasty? Is it an easy fix?

Closed rhinoplasty is an excellent method for some revision surgeries. Closed rhinoplasty is practiced by only a few experienced and skilled rhinoplasty surgeons. In your particular case, you should consider allowing more time for things to settle, as you could very well end up liking your result. 

 The photographs demonstrate hanging columella with a scar present from the previous open rhinoplasty. A closed rhinoplasty approach can accomplish reduction of the hanging columella by  removal of excess skin and cartilage from that area with incisions placed completely on the inside of the nose. Raising the columella with incisions inside the nose is a straightforward procedure for an experienced rhinoplasty specialist. You can ask your surgeon about the technique  but don't waste your time trying to determine the best approach..

Dear Jake, Most patients find a surgeon and the results that they like and then have their procedure either rhinoplasty or revision rhinoplasty performed using the technique that the surgeon prefers. I personally think you should wait for the final swelling to resolve over the next four to five months before you consider any revision surgery. It is important that during your consultation you discuss your goals and then weigh the risks versus rewards of revision rhinoplasty surgery. You may decide to leave well enough alone.
