Hello, and thank you for your question! Taking Excedrin before your surgery may increase the risk of bleeding since it makes it harder for your blood to clot. The risk is not huge, but I strongly urge you to tell your surgeon as soon as possible, as they may feel more comfortable postponing the procedure for your safety. Excessive bleeding around the implant can increase risk of capsular contracture or firmness around breast implants. Minimal bleeding will optimize factors enabling you to attain the best results.
Thank you for your question. Please speak with your plastic surgeon for specific pre op instructions. Regards.
Hello,I recommend that you rell your surgeon right away. This will likely carry a small risk of increasing bleeding yet your Plastic Surgeon may not be willing to take that risk. All the best
Aspirin greatly reduces your bodies ability to form clots and prevent bleeding. Even a small amount of excess bleeding in the implant pocket increases your chances of developing a capsular contracture that may require additional surgery. It is important to remember that this is an elective procedure-you want all factors optimized for the best outcome. If you were my patient I would insist on waiting at least another week before proceeding- the risk on needing additional surgery is too great.I hope this helps
If you're willing to take a little bit of a chance, then you could go forward with the surgery. That said, I generally am very conservative and would delay the surgery for another couple of weeks... I know that's not what you'd really like to hear, but..."better to be safe, than sorry". Make a good decision!
Thank you for your question. My advice is to avoid Asprin and ibuprophen products for two weeks before and two weeks after your procedure in order to decrease bruising and bleeding. My advice is to avoid the Excedrin and take acetaminophen. Best of luck.
Hello and thank you for your excellent question. I suggest that you ask your surgeon directly, as he or she may have specific concerns. Good luck!Best, Jon Ver Halen, MD FACS Harvard educated plastic surgeon Texas “Top Doc”
Thanks so much for your question. It's difficult to really have symmastia prior to having a breast augmentation. Symmastia is where there's a connected pocket between your two breasts. However, you may have pectus excavatum which is where your sternum is indented. That's a very different iss...
Yes, it can be completely legitimate and safe to have breast augmentation (and other cosmetic surgery) performed in a surgery center -- even an office based surgery center. Ask a few more questions to ensure that everything is truly legitimate.Ask what certifications their surgery center holds ...
What do you mean by "sexual activities?" Trapeze sex? Missionary intercourse can be pretty boring (or not). Honestly, I have told my patients for years that "When" is not for me to say, but that I will indeed have rules about "How?" or "What kind" of sexual activity! For the first two weeks ...
I'm unsure what medications you were perscribed however, I would check to see if you can take the muscle relaxers with the other pain medications someitmes it may contradict. Ask your surgeon or local pharmacist. regards,
Why did you remove your own tapes? I have patients keep everything dry andi ntact until one week post op where we remove the tapes. It appears there is some skin separation. It will heal however you should follow up with your surgeon and re cover the area. Regards
Many thanks for your question. The scar in the fold can appear indented following this area being secured to the chest wall. Be reassured that over time this settles and you should expect this to improve in appearance. Your final result following breast augmentation takes at least six...
