Does it look like my areola is detaching? (Photo)

question and photograph. Congratulations on your breast augmentation procedure,
as well. What you are seeing is not areola detachment, but some skin
separation. This is completely normal and should not negatively affect your
breast augmentation results. If you have any further concerns, however, I
recommend speaking with your operation surgeon.

Why did you remove your own tapes? I have patients keep everything dry andi ntact until one week post op where we remove the tapes. It appears there is some skin separation. It will heal however you should follow up with your surgeon and re cover the area. Regards 

Thank you for your question and photograph.  Your photograph indicates that you have a small separation of the skin edge which is normal and will heal just fine.  Best to follow-up with your plastic surgeon for evaluation.  Good luck.

Chemmomy:  A slight amount of separation following the procedure you received is quite normal and I don't see anything worrisome in your photo.  You should follow up with your PS but it looks fine to me.Best of luck to you in your healing!G. Robert Meger MD

This is a common scenario, you can even put it back together with a steri strip... If it progresses see you surgeon... This usually heals by it self, with careful wound care... Best regards!

Slight wound separation is quite common.  You are so early after surgery, your surgeon may opt to place a stern strip or even a stich.  Follow up with your surgeon is the best.Best Wishes,Nana Mizuguchi, MD

Don't panic. Your areola isn't going to fall off. This is just a slight skin separation. Perfectly normal. Hope this helps lessen your anxiety.  

You do appear to have a slight dehisence which is something that can happen after this type of surgery..  I would keep the area clean and dry with some clean gauze, be very careful with the area and get into to see your plastic surgeon soon.  It is likely that he can fix it in the office.
