I'm only 1 day po and noticed as separation at the top of my areola incision. It's after hours for my ps office and I'll be calling tomorrow but wondering if this is something grave. I don't want to panic

question and photograph. Congratulations on your breast augmentation procedure,
as well. What you are seeing is not areola detachment, but some skin
separation. This is completely normal and should not negatively affect your
breast augmentation results. If you have any further concerns, however, I
recommend speaking with your operation surgeon.

Why did you remove your own tapes? I have patients keep everything dry andi ntact until one week post op where we remove the tapes. It appears there is some skin separation. It will heal however you should follow up with your surgeon and re cover the area. Regards

This is a common scenario, you can even put it back together with a steri strip... If it progresses see you surgeon... This usually heals by it self, with careful wound care... Best regards!

Don't panic. Your areola isn't going to fall off. This is just a slight skin separation. Perfectly normal. Hope this helps lessen your anxiety.

You do appear to have a slight dehisence which is something that can happen after this type of surgery..  I would keep the area clean and dry with some clean gauze, be very careful with the area and get into to see your plastic surgeon soon.  It is likely that he can fix it in the office.
