I had surgery today. I have all my prescribed medication. I plan to get off the heavy pain meds on day 3. As for the muscle relaxers, it says when needed. Do I have to take them? I've heard other ladies make them feel groggy. Thanks in advance!
Answer: MUSCLE RELAXERS ??? In plastic surgery in Mexico nationwide muscle relaxants are not a standard medication in the post op setting... This is a surgeons choice for the patient... Even with pain meds, we encourage patients not to take them if they are not needed, So If you don´t feel needing the medication don´t take them... You'll do great, best regards!

Answer: Medications I'm unsure what medications you were perscribed however, I would check to see if you can take the muscle relaxers with the other pain medications someitmes it may contradict. Ask your surgeon or local pharmacist. regards,

Answer: Post Op Pain Medication Hello,Thank you for your question. If a medication is prescribed, "as needed" or, PRN, then you may take it only if you need it and you can choose not to. Many BA find that they can be comfortable taking less than what is prescribed for pain but you have the option of taking them when necessary. Ask your surgeon if you have any questions specific to your medications or recovery so that they can advise you.All the best

Answer: No Need For Extra Medications Thank you very much for your question, as it is a good one. There is no need to take muscle relaxers or additional pain medications, if you do not feel that you need them. Some doctors do not prescribe muscle relaxers after a breast augmentation, although this is strictly up to the operating surgeon. If you have any further concerns, I recommend reaching out to your operating surgeon. Congratulations on your breast augmentation and best of luck.

Answer: Muscle relaxers Dear missxela, you don't have to take them but most plastic surgeons recommend muscle relaxers to reduce the muscle spasm in the early period after surgery. I would suggest you to follow your surgeon's instructions. Daniel Barrett, MD, MHA, MS Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, Am. Society of Plastic Surgery
