I have a severe inverted V due to a bad primary rhinoplasty which was performed in 08/15. I am in the process of searching for a revision rhinoplasty specialist. I understand that I must wait at least a year to have a revision, so I'm considering getting fillers in my nose for a temporary solution until I can find an experienced doctor. What is the general opinion in regards to having filler injected into the nose?? Is it safe? How successful is it? Any suggestions on experienced doctors?
Answer: Fillers for The Nose Fillers to this area are safe if done by a trained profressional. this are is more hi risk due to the small blood supply that is why i suggest a reversible filler. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: In your case an examination may be necessary to determine the feasibility of non-surgical rhinoplasty treatments. You appear to have this skin and not much swelling remaining in your nose, so it is possible revision rhinoplasty could be considered now, eight months postoperative. Consider re-asking your question with oblique and profile photos. Based on your frontal photo, you may require lateral osteotomies to narrow the bones where your nose meets your face. You may require lowering of the bottom of your bridge, depending on your profile. Your tip may be fine.Based on what you've presented, I would suggest holding off on injectable fillers for your nose, since revision rhinoplasty may be considered sooner rather than later, depending on your examination.Wishing you all the best moving forward.Dr Joseph

Answer: Is it Safe to Put Fillers in the Nose? I recommend against it. I am very sorry that you have had a bad experience 8 months ago; this is a classic example of an inverted V deformity. Since you are planning on revision surgery and due to the severity of the deformity, I would strongly encourage you to defer any further treatments until your revision surgery. If this was a small deformity, my answer would likely be different. However, fillers in the nose can compromise vascularity and you definitely don't want to further complicate your revision procedure. At 8 months and due to the nature of your problem, your revision Surgeon may agree to proceed prior to the one year mark.

Answer: Are fillers a safe option to temporarily treat an inverted V deformity? Hello samartaha,Thanks for your question.Yes, fillers are safe for temporary correction of your inverted V deformity. You may have to wait until the fillers dissolve in 9-12 months for revision surgery, but you can also use hyaluronidase enzyme injections to make it go away earlier if surgery is more pressing. The process is safe in experienced hands. It is quite successful in experienced hands. I would suggest you see an injection expert in your area for an evaluation and possible treatment. It is best if it is a revision rhinoplasty specialist as well. You have several in Houston.Good luck,Dr. Shah
