Hi JPD,As long as the bladder sling does not have any metal parts, Emsculpt treatment should be fine. To be on the safe side, please contact your bladder surgeon and ask if there is any metal, and ask if the intense abdominal muscle contractions will adversely affect your sling. Good luck and be well.Dr. PEncino, CA
This shouldn't be a problem however, you need a formal consultation with a board certified cosmetic dermatologist or plastic surgeon. Best, Dr. Emer.
Thank you for your question. The most significant contraindication to Emsculpt use is the presence of metal in the area being treated. This would mean surgical clips, copper IUD's, orthopedic pins or plates. Most of the time bladder sling surgeries do not have any metal involved but it would be best to double check with the surgeon prior to your treatment.Good luck with your treatments.
Hi, and thank you for your question. Typically, bladder slings do not have any metal in them. However, the best way to know for sure that there is no metal was used with the bladder sling is to contact the surgeon who performed your procedure for verification. It is likely that there isn’t any metal present, in which case you would potentially be a candidate for EMSCULPT as long as you meet the required criteria deemed by your doctor.
Hi JPD, as a rule of thumb, Emsculpt can be performed as long as there is no metal within 7 cm under the Emsculpt applicator. The more common instruments and devices in the abdominal area are surgical staples and copper IUDs. Regarding bladder slings, there does not appear to be any metal parts to those devices, although I would recommend confirming with your surgeon who implanted the sling.
Absolutely. Both EMSculpt and Emsella are safe with with a bladder sling in place.I have used EMSculpt on many women with bladder slings. There is no metal in a bladder sling. We are getting great results with EMSculpt, by the way.
Hi,You shouldn't get Emsculpt over any area of implanted metal. Probably the safest way to check is to ask the physician for a copy of the physical lot and serial number of your sling if it is artificial. You can contact the manufacturer directly to ask if there is any metal in your sling.Warmly,Dr. Liu
The major contraindications for Emsculpt are implantable metal devices of any kind. A bladder sling should not be a problem as long as there are no metal components to it. I recommend a consultation with a board certified provider to see if Emsculpt is the best treatment for you!
Hi J,We use EmSculpt to build abdominal muscle and reduce fat. Body tite is fine but is more invasive than Venus Freeze or Legacy which we use in our new moms who do no wish to have any invasive treatment, only topical. Good luck and be well, enjoy your new addition to your family!!!Dr. P...
This is a great question. Emsculpt can be different for all people. The more engaged muscles are, the more you will feel a treatment. So, very fit people with string muscles and limited body fat will feel the treatments more intensely than people with extra body fat whose muscles are not already...
Hello, thank you for your question. Although metal implants are considered a contraindication for the Emsculpt treatment, certain offices have been treating patients with Titanium implants off-label. Therefore, you may be able to do the treatment with the titanium screws. Please seek a certified...
