I've seen people with bulbous nose that have gotten rhinoplasty but the end result is just a smaller bulbous nose, if that makes sense. Do you think it could be a bit more pointy, I'm not looking for a perfect nose either

Hi Joy,The cost of rhinoplasty varies anywhere from $6,500 to $25,000, I would stay away from either end of that range.  Base your decision on your rhinoplasty surgeon upon their skill, experience, caring nature, and most importantly their natural artistic vision.  There is no such thing as an "easy" rhinoplasty.  Rhinoplasty is considered by experts to be the most difficult of all facial plastic surgeries.  Your bulbous tip can be refined to give your nose a more harmonious appearance that allows your pretty eyes to be the main focus of your face.  Choose your rhinoplasty surgeon most carefully.  Cost should not be your main deciding factor as the cost of revision is often much more expensive.  Good luck and be well.Dr. P

Thanks for sending in your question and images. You could certainly consider nasal tip reduction. The procedure would involve cartilage reduction, suture narrowing, cartilage  repositioning and possible tip graft. Setting realistic expectations is very important in surgical planning.  Fees vary amongst surgeons a general range would be  from 7 to 12000.  Best of luck.

Rhinoplasty surgery price varies based on many variables, but includes a surgeon's fee, anesthesiology fee, and a facility fee.   In many cases, they are bundled to provide a total cost which is  in line with what the other doctors suggested.  It is much more important that you obtain at least two consults from doctors who perform rhinoplasty regularly and can demonstrate their results with a nose that is similar to what you would like to see as your final result.  Once you have found the right doctor and his results, I would then consider how to manage the cost of surgery

You have a bulbous tip from the large tip cartilages mostly.  Your skin does not look excessively thick. Therefore, by reducing your tip cartilage and suturing them properly, your skin should conform to the tip's new contour and obtain a more refined look. Results in Rhinoplasty are largely a derivative of the expertise of the Surgeon.  A wide bulbous tip can be related to the size and character of the nasal tip cartilages and the thickness of the nasal skin; the thickness of the nasal skin can limit the ultimate definition of the nasal tip. Rhinoplasty is never an "easy" procedure, nor is straightforward, nor is a nose guaranteed to have a specific algorithmic outcome.  Although cost is always a consideration, Rhinoplasty is not inexpensive and if it is, there is probably a reason.  An experienced Rhinoplasty may charge between $6,500 and $12,000 depending on the geographic location. Hello. You are an attractive young woman and you would certainly benefit from a rhinoplasty. The width and shape of the nose could be refined significantly, giving you a very nice result. Hi joycal20. Thanks for your question. Yes you could get great results from a rhinoplasty. Tip refinement surgery is a delicate operation and requires repositioning & redefining the tip cartilages (as opposed to just removing them). Overaggressive tip cartilage resection in an attempt to narrow the bulbous tip can result in weak tip cartilages & a pinchy tip. The extent to which your nose can be narrowed depends on the strength of your tip cartilages and thickness of your skin. Hello Joycal20,When it comes to refining a bulbous tip there are several characteristics that need to be considered.  Once is how strong the cartilage is.  If your cartilage (the structures that make up the softer parts of your nose) is weak it makes it more difficult for it to retain the refined shape created.  The second characteristic is how thick your skin is.  The thicker the overlying skin the more difficult it is to create a significant amount of improvement because the skin camouflages the work done on the cartilage when it is too thick.  I think with your expectations and the pictures you provided a rhinoplasty would be a good operation for you.  As far as cost I would estimate it would be around $5,000-7,000 based on your request above depending on where you want to have your surgery performed (hospital or surgical center).  I would recommend you consult with a facial plastic surgeon for an in person evaluation to provide a more accurate assessment of your nose including cartilages and skin, provide you with a computer analysis showing realistic expectations, and provide you with the actual price quote instead of an estimate. Rhinoplasty is the hardest operation to perform correctly in the entire field of cosmetic surgery, so choose your surgeon very wisely based on experience. Thick skin will be  an impediment to seeing a very refined result in the tip of the nose. To reduce the bulbous tip, a combination of suture techniques, cartilage grafting techniques and  conservative cartilage removal are performed to accomplish the goals of narrowing  the tip.
