Hyaluronic Dermal fillers are a good starting point as they are temporary and give you the results of a cheek enhancement with out the commitment of an implant. There are also longer lasting fillers such as Voluma, sculptura, radiesse and Bellafill that can be used to create more defined cheekbones. Fat transfer is also an excellent way to enhance the cheekbones and is permanent. I perform cheek implants in cases where there is an extreme flatness to the cheeks. I verify placement with a camera to maximally it ensure symmetry. I suggest an in person consult with a board certified plastic surgeon who specializes in facial aesthetics to review all your options for optimal results.
Hello Candidates for cheek implant includes people with weak cheek structure, narrow or flat face, and also those who have lost their natural cheek contour due to age can benefit it. You may be a good candidate for facial implants if you: Are physically healthy Do not smoke Have specific goals in mind for improvement of your cheek.
Cheek volume and contour can be improved with well-placed fillers (Voluma, Radiesse, Bellafill) and Sculptra. This would let you try on the look before committing to a permanent alternative like fat or implants. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a facial sculpting expert. Best, Dr. Emer
To create defined and higher cheekbones, implants are a wonderful option. I recommend cheek implants for patients that have a bone deficiency or seeking permanent options for cheek augmentation. This is the only option that will create a permanent result and will be cost effective overtime. With all surgery, there are risks involved, but with a qualified surgeon you have a great chance of having a wonderful outcome. You have other options to improve the area by adding volume with fat, fillers, or Sculptra. The downside to these options is they have to be repeated and will cost you more money in the long run. I hope this helps!
Hello and thank you for your question. Thebest advice you can receive is from an in-person consultation. Cheek implants can add more volume to the upper midface. I always use a medpor implant with screw fixation, which stays in placeover time. A silicone cheek implant has a high rate of malrotation overtime. Make sure you specifically lookat before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgeryperformed by your surgeon and evaluate their results. The mostimportant aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommendthat you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon whocan evaluate you in person.Best wishes and good luck.Richard G. Reish, M.D.Harvard-trained plastic surgeon
Hello Wantsathinnerface,Cheek implants can be used to give a more prominent and higher cheek bone. The nice thing is they are permanent. The drawback is they are permanent. Before you consider going with the implant I usually recommend to my patients that they try temporary fillers to see if they like the look. I'd recommend you consult with a facial plastic surgeon to learn more about your options.I hope this helps and good luck.
Yes, cheek implants accomplish the goal of augmenting existing maxilla and cheeks. In our practice, we have been using Implantech brand of solid silicone cheek implants for over 25 years with an excellent success rate. Cheek implants are usually placed through intra-oral incision under a brief general anesthesia. The implants are manufactured in a large assortment of both shapes and sizes which is best determined at the time of the consultation and examination. Asymmetry of the cheeks can also be addressed at the same time by custom carving the implants.
