While a scar will also remain when an incision is made through the skin, there are ways to modulate the wound healing process to minimize the appearance of the scar. A variety of modalities exist, though the first-line would typically be Kenalog/5-fluorouracil injections to reduce the hypertrophic aspect of the scar. Adjuvant treatments could include lasers or RF devices to help improve the color and texture of the skin combined with skin boosters such as exosomes or PDRN.
