Do I have misaligned eyes? One eye looks like it’s staring. What can I do? (photos)

I had double eyelid surgery and now one eye looks more open than the other. The surgeon said one eye sits farther back than my other one. He said that the eyelid surgery will help the appearance. I feel like all it did was make my eyes look worse. Do I have misaligned eyes? What can I do? I also have had pain behind the bigger eye and around the eyebrow. It almost feels like it’s protruding.
