Ive seen a few studies where implants are used to reduce deep labiomental folds, especially after genioplasty. Would it be possible to reduce my fold using a custom implant? What's the most I could reduce, and how much would it cost? What kind of surgeon would have the best experience doing this? I was thinking an advanta implant would be best for this area
Answer: Labiomenta fold and implants Augmenting the chin will deepen the labiodental fold. Vertical lengthening will not impact the leave your mental fold in a negative manner but anterior projection wIll. I don’t think an implant will improve your labiomental angle. Any anterior augmentation will make it worse. I suggest scheduling a few consultations to hear what each individual provider has to say. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD

Answer: Chin contour Yes, one can 'carve' a custom material to lie under the fold; and above the teeth roots quite routinely in many genioplasties. The material commonly used is a 'gortex' like product since it is uniquely carveable at surgery.
