Hello everybody, I am looking to find academic papers on the long term health impacts of facial implants such as chin and cheek implants. I'm considering a chin implant for myself but won't do it without sufficient information about what the long term risks and impacts are to my health, including but not limited to information about immune system responses to the implant. I am struggling to find any studies on this topic. Does anyone know of any?
Answer: Chin İmplant Hello ! Thank you for your question it is very nice to hear this from a patient I definitely always recommend research from many different sources before patients take any action,as with every surgery, there are risks of chin implant surgery, so these tests are done before the surgery and examined in a detailed way, only blood tests are not enough, the patient's cognitive psychology should be avoided, after reviewing all these dates, the patient's condition and an optional decision are made,I don't think it will be enough to understand and explain the immune system here, we need to discuss it in a longer way. Thank you ! regards

Answer: Risks from having implants I when implants are placed in the body the body will seal off the foreign body with a layer of scar tissue isolating it from the rest of the body. that membrane of scar tissue created to isolate the foreign body is called a capsule. certain chemicals can leak through that capsule but for the most part things just stay in place and don’t create harm. This include things like lead in bullets which are generally not removed from the body unless there is some good reason to remove them. Most facial implants are made out of solid silicone rubber. There is never been as shown correlation of disease of any type with the use of these implants. You will not find any such papers because the correlation doesn’t exist that anyone has ever been able to show. There are local effects such as bone erosion but that’s about all you’re going to find. Rather than trying to become the worlds expert on implant related auto immune disease I suggest letting those who have spent many years in training getting educated steer you in the right direction. Nobody has to have cosmetic surgery and there are always inherent risks with any procedure. The link Beween silicone and auto immune disease was debunked thoroughly, on an international basis many years ago. The evidence is overwhelmingly supportive of the use of silicone implants. Depending on your age you may or may not recall that the FDA withdrew the use of liquid silicone breast implants from the market except for certain situations like in the use of cancer reconstruction. There were multiple fraudulent lawsuits based on fraudulent Studies linking these products to auto immune disease. One person in particular was responsible for this fake news allegation. Her name is Connie Chung. she personally is responsible for thousands of women undergoing unnecessary operations and creating fear in millions of women based on telling the world that silicone implants were dangerous and hurting women. The FDA made a knee-jerk Decision and pulled at the implants. after thorough review all studies clearly and conclusively showed no correlation. This is why the FDA lifted the ban on silicone implants which they were very reluctant to do. The damage Connie Chung did by reporting a story that was not fact checked or accurate was a heinous act that should’ve put her in jail. In the end I suggest you focus all your efforts and finding the most talented and experienced surgeon. When things go wrong with cosmetic surgery it isn’t because of some strange disease that happens 20 years later it’s because the patient did not properly vet they’re plastic surgeons and chose one who liked skills and experience. Instead of spitting hours reading research papers I suggest spending hours interviewing plastic surgeons asking each one to show their entire collection of before and after pictures to help you that and select the most talented and experienced provider for you.
