I have lumpy and uneven lips one week after 1 syringe of Volbella. Is Hylarex to dissolve it my last option? (photos)

Question

I had one syringe of volbella infected into my lips a little over a week ago. There was some bruising and swelling, nothing out of the ordinary. Now my upper lip has one large clear bump, and I can feel something deep in my lower lip. They visibly look crooked. I have tried massage but unsure how far that is going to get me. My injector wants to use hylarex to dissolve. Is this my last option? Thank you for your help

Thank you for your question!  I'm sorry that your results didn't turn out as expected.  I hope that by now your lips have settled down and you are happy with your look.  If they have not, the only option would be to get the filler dissolved.  Schedule an appointment with an experienced doctor for the best treatment and results.  I hope this helps.  All the best!

Thank you for your question. Using Hylenex is a great option if massage is not working. When massaging you do need to press very firmly to smooth it out. If this isn't working however, dissolving is what I would recommend. It only takes a few units and you would not lose all of the fullness from the filler, just the tiny bump that needs smoothed you. Its a great and quick option that I believe would make you much happier with your lips. Good luck!

Bruising, swelling, sometimes discoloration, lumps, and bumps are normal side effects assuming proper injection. They should be gone in a matter of days. In general, if it continues to feel uncomfortable up to this time, consult your doctor to get a complete assessment or have the filler dissolved with hyaluronidase.
