I had Volbella injected several weeks ago. I didn’t notice they were uneven, until I put on lipstick. I thought maybe there was swelling, so I waited another 2 weeks to see if they would even out (it has now been a month and a half). I have an appt today with the injector. I’m concerned about the process and how this would be fixed. Is more filler added? And if so, is that usually at the cost of the customer if the results are uneven like this? Is it better to have the filler dissolved?

Answer: Correcting lip filler Thank you for you question. There are a couple of different options when it comes to correcting asymmetry from lip injections. One option would be to dissolve some from the other side. If you are happy with the look of the more full side then I would suggest adding some to the deficient side to even them out. Cost would be at the discretion of the injector for dissolving or adding more product. Good luck!

Answer: Options Thanks for your question. You could have the Volbella dissolved, but might be more unhappy if they look a lot smaller that what you had in mind. There is also some evidence pointing to the possibility that the hyaluronidase to dissolve the filler can also dissolve some of your native collagen, and it is usually charged to the patient to have the filler dissolved. It looks to me from the photos that you might be able to correct some of the issue with another syringe - Volbella does come in a small syringe and also can be injected in most other areas of the face, so none is wasted. Hopefully your dermatologist can help you sort it out, and in the end, the hyaluronic acid fillers are pretty forgiving and do become metabolized eventually, so another option is just waiting. Good luck!
