Can my hips grow back after lipo? (Photo)

Question

I had lipo 6 months ago on my hips, lower back, and tummy, but when I gained weight, I saw that I gained weight on my waist. I was wondering if I could make my hips larger again through sports. I didn't know that after lipo, fat wouldn't grow again

Liposuction is used to remove a portion of the excess fan in areas of the body that are out of proportion to the other areas. It does not remove all of the fat in the area that is treated and therefore the fat that is remaining can increase or decrease with weight gain or weight loss.  This should be made clear to patients requesting improvement of their body proportions.  Best wishes.

Liposuction does not prevent weight gain. Some fat cells are removed with liposuction, but other fat cells remain which can enlarge with weight gain.

If you are wanting more fullness in your hips you can consider fat grafting.  Further liposuction of the waist could be performed to make the waist smaller while also accentuating your curves.  See a board certified plastic surgeon near you to learn more.

Any fat in your body will expand with weight gain and shrink with weight loss. Wear fat does this depends on your fat distribution. Liposuction and fat, transfer procedures, permanently, change fat distribution, but typically never removes all the fat. An area treated with liposuction will generally have less fat than it did before, so there is less fat to fluctuate with weight fluctuations.
 if someone has liposuction of their abdomen, then can wait they may notice that your abdomen becomes larger. This may be due to the remaining subcutaneous fat, increasing slightly in thickness, but it’s probably more related to visceral fat, which is inter abdominal and is not removed through Liposuction.
 Liposuction simply changes someone’s fat distribution.
This result is permanent. In other words where you care, your body fat will never change after having Liposuction unless you have some other intervention.
