Can I just do liposuction or do I need tummy tuck ? (Photo)

Question

I am interested in getting liposuction for my back and belly with some body contouring but based on my photos would a tummy tuck with lipo be a better option? I want to have children in the future so i don't want to run into complications later in life from having a previous tummy tuck. What would be a good idea?

Thank you for your question and photos. In my opinion, there are multiple options. Yes, you can do liposuction 360 degrees and improve your overall shape and contour, but you will end up with significant amount of loose skin in the upper and lower abdomen and pubic area. Only a non-surgeon believes that this can be tightened up by a magic "wand". I use Renuvion for skin tightening, but I would not have you waste money on it. If you are not planning to have another child in the near future, your best results would be from a lipoabdominoplasty and circumferential liposuction. So, you have to decide not to do anything until you deliver another child, live with loose skin or have an hourglass figure. See a board certified plastic surgeon experienced in advanced body sculpting techniques for an in person consultation/evaluation. Good luck.

If you are thinking of starting a family in the future, liposuction may be a better route to go. Tummy tuck still is an option however, most women in a committed relationship typically wait until they’re certain they’re done having children before opting for a tummy tuck. In you case there seems to be excess fat around the waist/flanks and abdomen. Women commonly opt for liposuction in areas such as the he stomach and love handles which are popular areas for treatment. If you want improvement now before starting a family, liposuction is an option!

based on your photos, you look like a good candidate for a TT. Full tummy tuck should tighten your abdominal muscles and remove the excess skin. Flanks liposuction would give you a better shape. I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon because only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.

Thank you for your question. Your abdomen has fat. The lower abdominal skin is very loose. After liposuction, there will most likely be skin laxity in the upper abdomen and excess skin in the lower abdomen. I do not recommend tummy tuck if you are going to give birth in the future because you will probably need Tummy Tuck surgery again after giving birth. If you do not want to have a tummy tuck again and again, I recommend you to consider tummy tuck after delivery. What can be done for now? In my opinion, you will be happy to do Vaserlipo to the whole abdomen and Renuvion J plasma for skin tightening in the upper abdomen and Mini Tummy Tuck for excess skin in the lower abdomen.

I highly recommend choosing a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon for your procedure to achieve optimal results. It is recommended that you have children first but if that’s 5 years or more down the road,, go ahead and get the lipo. I recommend Vaser liposuction to help tighten the skin in the areas being liposuctioned. You could add a mini Abdominoplasty as well to remove the excess skin from the abdomen, it would not effect your ability to conceive but would possibly need revised after childbirth. You have a slight overhang and skin excess which can't be fixed with liposuction along.  I'd recommend the tummy tuck with liposuction of your flanks.

You would certainly benefit from a tummy tuck. However, if you want future pregnancies, it will stretch the abdominal wall, undo the tummy tuck and you will need a second tummy tuck. For that reason, most people do not do tummy tucks until they are done having children.

Because of your low umbilical position, your loose abdominal wall skin, your bulging relaxed abdominal wall, normal findings after full term pregnancy and parturition, you are an excellent candidate for tummy tuck.  The procedure should be deferred until AFTER you are doubtful of future pregnancies if possible.  My observation has been that because liposuction only removes fat but doesn't remove loose skin or tighten the abdominal wall, liposuction alone for post-partum women is often disappointing.  Until your tummy tuck, after your final pregnancy, consider focusing on what you can control: diet, fitness, and healthy lifestyle.

It is very likely that liposuction of torso including lower abdomen, will create significant improvement. I would suggest to start with liposuction and give it at least 6 months for result to stabilize, loose weight. Good luck
