You may experience more swelling that would delay your recovery. The girdle also provides support for the incision(s) and helps your skin conform to your new leaner shape. If you are experiencing pain when you wear your girdle, I suggest you speak with your surgeon. It might not fit properly.

Thank you for your question.  For most patients placement of a clean gauze and ointment over the incision site to catch any drainage is recommended until the hole heals on its own, normally in 2-4 days after drain removal.  Hope this helps

In that area it is unlikely you will hurt anything using either one.  I would choose whatever makes the area feel better, but in general swelling will be more responsive to a cool pack, but don't apply it directly to the skin.
