How long does it take to wake up from anesthesia after rhinoplasty?

Timing of awakening from general anesthetic is largely dependent upon the anesthesiologist. We give our anesthesiologist a 15 minute notification when we are concluding surgery, and our patients awaken shortly after that. Upon getting to the recovery room, most of our patients are able to go home in an hour. Hope this helps! Dr Joseph

It is common for patients to have some apprehension about general anesthesia.  That being said, anesthesia complications are very rare.  Typically patients begin waking up as soon as the procedure is over.  You will likely be in recovery for and hour or so before going home.  If you have further concerns, you should ask to speak with somebody from your anesthesia team prior to surgery.  Best of luck.

Waking up from anesthesia is typically quick and in your case should be similar to your last one. Done by certified anesthesia provider, general anesthesia is very safe. Best wishes and good luck,

The time you will be under anesthesia will depend upon multiple factors and will vary from patient to patient.  Generally, the surgery takes 1 to 1.5 hours; more complicated cases can take 3 - 4 hours. You should not be concerned about waking up if you use a board certified PS and a board certified anesthesiologist. Speak to both the PS and anesthesiologist about your concerns as they can alleviate your anxiety by answering your specific questions.

After the procedure has completed, you will emerge from the anesthetic in a similar fashion as your previous procedure.
