Is this method better than closed/open? Also, what are the limitations of normal closed rhinoplasty?
Answer: Rhinoplasty evaluation Hello and thank you for your question. There are multiple techniques and approaches to a rhinoplasty, both surgical and non-surgical. Your concerns are best answered with an in-person consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon, where the technique and expertise of your surgeon will be ideally applied to your specific features. In your rhinoplasty consultation, be sure your surgeon addresses all your aesthetic goals and concerns specifically, and discusses the surgery details including the position and size of the incisions used (with actual photographs and not just digital animations), the risks and benefits of the procedure, recovery time, and post-operative course. Also, be sure to see plenty of before-and-after pictures in women who have a similar nose appearance to yours, and preferably at different time frames (3 weeks out, 3 months out, etc) to more accurately predict your own surgical outcome. After seeking out a board-certified plastic surgeon who specializes in aesthetic plastic surgery, I think the most important component of the consultation is to establish a good connection with your plastic surgeon. It’s the connection that allows you to clearly define your desired nose outcome goals, the first step of this whole process. If you don’t feel you have a good connection with your plastic surgeon after your consultation, he/she may not be the best surgeon for you. Answer: "let down" rhinoplasty Hi and welcome to our forum! The "let down" rhinoplasty is limited to patients who demonstrate a relatively normally shaped nasal bridge and straight nasal septum, where the nasal roof and walls are separated as a single segment from their underlying bony attachments. Narrowing, repositioning, and a degree of lowering are possible. The performance of a traditional closed rhinoplasty is partially visible and partially tactile. All scars are internal. In open rhinoplasty the cartilaginous nasal structures can be directly visualized and can be manipulated / trimmed / augmented to achieve symmetry, best suited for asymmetric noses. We have no photos to determine the nature of your concern. The decision for the type of rhinoplasty chosen by your surgeon is based upon results of a patient examination and his / her personal lifetime professional experience. Best wishes...

Answer: Preservation Rhinoplasty The concept of preservation rhinoplasty is that the bridge you have is a good one and it simply needs to be lowered by cutting the bones and the septum. This is a very specific operation for a very specific indication. If you are a candidate for this operation, your surgeon will let you know provided they perform this style of rhinoplasty. However, many patients need more than a push down/let down rhinoplasty and they would benefit from an open rhinoplasty. Get a consultation with a top notch rhinoplasty surgeon and you will get the information you need.
