Thank you for your question. Lips typically will swell for 3 - 5 days following injection, regardless of when your last treatment was. I instruct my patients to use ice, Arnica and an anti-histamine to minimize post-injection swelling. Please see an experienced board certified plastic surgeon for best results. Hope this helps and good luck.
One of the first things I discuss with my clients prior to lip injections is the potential for short term bruising and swelling. The significant amount of vascularity in the lip allow the lip to heal extremely well but also can result in bruising and swelling following lip augmentation. Slow injections with good technique will decrease these potential side effects. I have also found that ice applied prior and following the injection will help to decrease the vascularity in the area which will decrease the possibility of these side effects.
It might actually swell about the same. It is difficult to predict. Best of luck with your decision to have more filler. Good luck.
Thank you for your inquiry. Each person heals and recovers differently, and you may have no side effects this time, even if you did swell after your last lip injection. It can't be predicted. The lips typically take about 2 weeks to settle with the new product in them, so be patient with your results. Swelling is a common side effect after lip injections, especially within the first 24 to 48 hours, and it will subside. Knowing how to reduce swelling prior to your next injection may help avoid it altogether. Icing the lips immediately after injections and repeated sessions of icing on the lips for the first 24 hours can help relieve symptoms quicker. Elevated sleeping the first night is recommended to reduce any swelling in the face and lips. To get the best results, it is important to choose an experienced, qualified medical professional who is familiar with the latest techniques.
Thank you for your question and photos. When injections are performed correctly, the product should not migrate. Your injections may not have been placed properly. Please see a board certified plastic surgeon who commonly performs these injections. Hope this helps.
Thank you for your question and photo. It is common to have swelling after Restylane injections which can take up 2 weeks to resolve. If you are unhappy with your results, you can have the filler dissolved with an enzyme known as hyaluronidase. I recommend having a follow up with your injector...
Thank you for your question. I understand you had too much Restylane placed in one of your tear troughs, however you don’t want to get hyaluronidase, as you’d rather see if you can massage it to get the material to absorb more quickly. You also state that you may add more Restylane in cer...
