Hi there, I am a 34 y/o looking to get breast augmentation. I have gotten some simulations. I really love how the 470 - 520cc sizes looks on me. I am 5'8", 143lbs. 36A. Is it a poor decision to get implants this large? My shoulders and chest are wide. The simulations don't look huge at all to me. My hips are narrow and I'm pretty slender. Thank you for your opinions and any advice.
Answer: Large implants Hello, thank you for your question. Usually the implant size is not based on how many ccs there are in the implant, but rather the measurements of the chest wall. As you have mentioned you have wide shoulders and chest and typically the larger sizes end up looking very pleasing on that body frame. I would bring in your wish pic photos to see if this is similar to the look you are going for. A 500cc implant can look massive on a petit frame but natural on a larger frame. Check out our before and afters and see the differences. Hope this helps . Thanks

Answer: Breast Width and Implant size Hi there, thanks for your question! In most instances your surgeon will base the "maximum" size implant you can have based on the width of your breasts. As implants go up in CC, the width of the implant also get wider, so I would reccomend that you consult with your plastic surgeon about the base width of your breasts compared to the implants you are considering to gauge a better idea of if they are too big for your frame or not. Best of luck!

Answer: Size For most women, those sizes are too large and heavy for their tissue and frame. Your surgeon who examined you can help guide you to the right size.

Answer: It's Your Decision Patients ask all the time what size they should receive for their augmentation, and the truth is that it is ultimately up to the aesthetic opinion of each individual patient. That being said, 300-450 cc is probably the "average" range and anything above or below that is slightly larger or smaller, respectively, which of course hinges on where you are starting from to begin with. So the ways to get a better understanding of what's right of you are to ask others who have had augmentation what size they had, do simulation, and - probably better than both of these - just put breast implant sizers in you bra and look in a mirror. At the end of the day after your augmentation it will be your decision whether the size you chose was best for you, and no one else is better to decide about your body than you.

Answer: Implant size Dear jenniiiferrr, breast implant type and sizing selection is a complicated process and requires a detailed consultation that includes a discussion of your goals, a detailed examination, and a lengthy discussion. But the decision will always start and end with the patient. When it comes to sizing, we have all of our patients find 3 photos of their desired breast size. We ask for naked breast photos because clothing can obscure the true size (push up bras). Next, we consult with patients and go over the photos and take detailed breast measurements during a physical exam. Next, we using a sizing algorithm to determine a range of implants that will work based on the exam and the measurements.Lastly, during the operation, we use silicone sizers in the operating room to see how the size actually looks in the breast. We sit the patient up in the operating room, while asleep of course, and compare the sizer result with their desired look photos. If it is too small, we start the process over with a slightly larger implant. We don't stop until we get the perfect match.Of all of my breast augmentation patients, every one of them has been happy with their size due to this detailed and meticulous process. You don't want to invest time and money into a result that is either too big or too small. You should discuss your concerns with a board-certified plastic surgeon and make sure that your surgeon understands your goals.
