Hi I got my filler in just over a day ago and I know bruising is normal (I have had them done before) but I am not sure why it is so red in this corner of my mouth? Is this normal or should I be concerned?
Answer: Bruising and swelling are common after dermal fillers Thanks for the question and photos. Based on the images, it does appear you are experiencing some bruising and swelling, which are both normal after dermal fillers. I would expect these side effects to subside within a couple of weeks. However, if you have other symptoms like pain or if the side effects get worse instead of better, I would schedule a follow-up appointment with your injector right away to ensure a vascular occlusion is not occurring.

Answer: Post filler red bruising? Based on the photo, although it's taken at an angle and is not very clear, it looks like a bruise that will go away soon.

Answer: Lip Augmentation- Post treament care Hello and thank you for your question and photo. The fact is that any time a needle is introduced under the skin, bruising, swelling and soreness are bound to happen. When I inject, I do all that I can to decrease your risk of bruising and swelling by using Micro-cannulas, tiny gauge needles and AccuVein vein finder. Bruising and swelling are transient and resolve on their own even without doing any of the below recommendations within one to two weeks. Here is what you can do to heal your bruises faster. Arnica Montana- This all-natural homeopathic medicine reduces bruising and swelling from procedures and surgeries. It comes from the herb Arnica Montana and has been used by European doctors for hundreds of years to both prevent bruising and to also heal bruises faster. You may purchase this at the office for your convenience or at pharmacies and health food stores. Bromelain- This is an all-natural enzyme extracted form pineapples which helps to heal bruising and inflammation. You may purchase Bromelain pills form health food stores or drink pineapple juice. Ice Compresses- Apply ice to the area for 2-5 minutes 3-4 times a day for the first 24 hours after injection treatment. Warm Compresses- Switch from ice to warm compresses 2-5 minutes 3-4 times a day on day two and continue until swelling and bruising subside. Wishing you the best, Monica Bonakdar, MD

Answer: Bruising Hello - don't be alarmed, bruising is perfectly normal with lip injections since a serious amount of trauma is done to the lips. It is also normal for bruising to be a red-ish color on the lips. Take some all-natural Arnica to help bruising go down quickly. Best of luck!
