2 days post is unevenness after lip injections normal? Will massaging help or make it worse?

Hi there, The asymmetry you are experiencing may be due to inflammation and swelling, considering you are only two days post injection. Continue to ice and massage, you might also want to try taking arnica pills or applying arnica gel to help relieve some of the swelling.I would suggest a follow up appointment with your care provider if the unevenness persists after two weeks, you may just need a touch up! 

Thank you for your question. There can be some swelling and/or lumps after lip injections which can last 1-2 weeks. You can apply firm pressure between two fingers on the lips for a few days, for 5 mins a time, in order to help decrease swelling and even out the lumps. If you're unhappy with your final results you can have it reversed with hyaluronidase and try a different technique next time. Best, Dr. Emer

Thank you for the photos - don't worry... Your lips are likely still very swollen and may appear uneven as swelling goes down. We always tell our patients to wait a full 2 weeks for lips to fully settle and heal. If after 2 weeks they still have this uneven shape, call your injector and ask them to fill in the smaller side.

Thank you for your question. It is quite common to see/feel unevenness after a lip augmentation. Continue to do a gentle massage to the area a few times a day. The product should settle within 7-14 days. If this does not improve, it would be best to schedule a follow-up with your provider.
