Thank you for sharing your excellent question. Depending on the exact process taking place it would be best to either have hyaluronidase injected to dissolve any encapsulated HA filler, or perhaps a dilute cortisone injection for scar tissue. If some other product was dissolved, excision may be the only option. Hope this helps.
Hello, thank you for your question. Some patients can experience encapsulated or migrated product over time. Following up with your provider, he or she will be able to diagnose the issue (product, scar tissue, etc.) and then treat as needed. If the filler is not bothering you or not causing an issue, you can decide to leave it. However, you can dissolve the product at any time with almost immediate results. I hope this helps!
Hey there thanks for the question! Some people do indeed seem to retain filler for very long periods of time. The other possibility is that there is some scar tissue present. If it doesnt bother you you can opt to leave the filler - however if you’re not happy with it, fillers at any stage can be easily dissolved with hylase.Good luck
Hi smaiolo,It really depends on what filler you had. Hyaluronic acid fillers are like our own and get metabolized over time. However, for hyaluronic fillers that had not dissolved, we use hyaluronidase. Your doctor will determine whether it is a scar a lump or something else that can't be dissolved and would require surgery. All the best,Justin Harper, M.D.
