Is the lidocaine in Juvederm the same as the dentist uses?

Because of the rate of absorption of adrenaline-containing local anesthetics into your blood stream, some people experience what you felt. The actual lidocaine or xylocaine in the short term local anesthetics does not usually cause this type of experience.
Restylane and Juviderm products do not contain adrenaline or epinephrine. They are mixed with a small amount of lidocaine, a short term local anesthetic. I would recommend you that you can get injectable agents from a board certified plastic surgeon, who can re-assure you about your medical history and drug reactions prior to injecting you.

Juvederm contains lidocaine without epinephrine so you should not experience any unwanted side effects following the treatment.  Before you are injected, however, I would address this concern with your doctor.

The lidocaine in Restylane and Juvederm is free from epinephrine so you should be perfectly fine to have the injections.  There is no epinephrine to give you this type of a reaction.  Please consult a specialist in cosmetic injections for the best results. Best, Dr. Green

The lidocaine that is mixed with the Juvederm XC products does not contain epinephrine.  I encourage you to mention your sensitivity to epinephrine to your injector so that it can be noted in your chart.

Thankyou for your question.Your symptoms are a combination of anxiety and the epinephrine. Dermal fillers have only lidocaine so you will be fine.You need to talk to your injector and let him/her know that you are prone to anxiety also. Good luck

It is obvious that your panic attacks occur when you receive your lidocaine and epinephrine mixture by your dentist from the product getting into a blood vessel. In most people lidocaine and epinephrine mixture is absolutely harmless. The lidocaine that is present in Restylane does not contain epinephrine so you should not have any issues with the product.
