When can I stop wearing my post surgery bra? (Photo)

Question

It is only day 2 since my BA and im fed up of this post surgery bra its really tight and i wish i could wear my comfy strechy sport bra. (See pics) white bra is post surgery, grey is what i want to wear. When can i change bras?

Thanks for your question.
Every surgeon has different post operative instruction based on personal preferences and experience so you should really ask to your surgeon that will listen to your difficulties and advise if you can do something different or considering pros and cons insist with the post op bra for longer.
I do recommend to wear a post op bra six weeks if implants are over the muscle, breast band for two weeks and soft bra for four week if behind the muscle.

Thank you for your question. I would encourage you to reach out to your surgeon as post-op instructions depend on his/her preference. Personally, I advise my patients to wear a supportive bra for 6 weeks following a breast augmentation. Best of luck!

I advise my patients to wear the supportive bra for five to seven days in order to re-establish the crease under the breast. If the implants are resting high, I then advise them to wear a soft bra, like cammies, tank tops, or bralettes. It’s always important to follow your surgeon’s protocol because there are various reasons and purposes for post-operative garments. It is best to consult with your surgeon regarding your issue as he has his own protocols, but generally a sports bra is not recommended as it gives no support at all and may alter the results of your surgery.

Thank you for your question.  I would normally recommend a support bra for 6 weeks following surgery.  I also use a breast band for 2 weeks if the implants are placed under the muscle.

Not every surgeon does the procedure the same exact way so its really a question you need to ask your surgeon. I let my patients wear any bra that is comfortable and gives some support and does not have a wire. I do not want them wearing a tight bra that is uncomfortable. I allow them to go braless within a few days of the surgery if they want to.
