Will my under eye filler lumps likely resolve on their own?

It generally takes about 2 weeks for under eye filler to settle out and often times takes a bit more patience than filler in other areas. If you have a lot of bruising , as you did, it can take even longer to appreciate your results. It is certainly common to have bruising after under eye filler and on occasion, some lumpiness. I usually ask patients to follow-up with me in two weeks and will then recheck to see if I may need to "massage" out any lumpiness. On rare occasions, there may be a need to break down some of the filler if the lumps persist. If so, there could be bruising from this process as well, but it does not hurt your under eye tissue or make it worse in any way. It is simply that you would once again be subject to possible bruising and swelling. I would advise you to follow up with your injector at the 2 week mark and see what he or she suggests.

Your result is common with inexperienced tear trough injectors. they most likely used a “series technique” with a regular beveled sharp needle versus the cannula technique.  They also placed TOO MUCH filler material.  The fillers will resorb or go away but unfortunately not until up to a year! I highly recommend you to go to an experienced injector and have hyaluronidase places to dissolve those Restylane away. Those lumpy lines will not go away anytime soon, yes, you may bruise again, but that complication is worth the unesthetic results in many patients’ eyes.  Good luck.
