I am experiencing extreme vaginal tightness post tummy tuck. Is this normal?

I had my tummy tuck 2 1/2 months ago and my pubis is definitely pulled up. Could this cause my vaginal tightness? Will I "drop" and look more normal? I've tried lubricants and different positions. I may be getting a little relief, but I am disturbed at this development.

Hello and thanks for your questions. Pulling up of the saggy pubic region is fairly normal with tummy tuck, but for some it can feel or look extreme. Discuss this with your plastic surgeon, but pulling on the external skin is unlikely to lead to tightness inside your vagina. I would suggest you check with your ob/gyn and have the area examined to be look for another cause. Best wishes always, Dr. ALDO

Hello,Thank you for your question. Swelling can settle into the pubic area for a few months after Tummy Tuck surgery however it is not common to experience that inside the vagina. I recommend that you be seen by your primary care physician or OB/Gyn to investigate further.Take care

Typically, vaginal tightness is highly unlikely to occur after a tummy tuck. Sometimes, swelling may occur in the "pubic" region depending on where liposuction was done, but this should not occur inside the vagina.

Vaginal tightness is not a typical complaint after a tummy tuck.  You may notice some external lift of the pubis and mons area, but this sounds like something you should ask your plastic surgeon or OB/Gyn to take a look at.
