Hi There,Thank you for your question, Coolsculpting and EmSculpt are two different types of procedures. Coolsculpting permanently reduces 20%-25% of fat cells in each treatment area. This technology works by freezing the unwanted fat cells and permanently destroying them. Your body will then naturally dispose of the dead fat cells in a 2-3 months. Where as EmSculpt uses high-intensity focused electromagnetic energy to induce powerful muscle contractions. This treatment will tone the muscle. It is not indicated to reduce fat, therefore if an adequate amount of subcutaneous fat is present this may not be the best treatment for you. I would advise you to meet with a physician to discuss your areas of concern and see which treatment would be best for you. Best of luck!
If you have small problem areas you can use non invasive methods like Coolsculpting with Vanquish or trusculpt iD to get small areas of fat reduced. Skin also tightens if you combine this with Exilis Ultra, Venus Legacy, and Inmode Forma/Contoura radiofrequency treatments. You boost the results from Coolsculpting if you add in Kybella injections to melt fat as well. We often combine Coolsculpting with shock therapy like ZWave, EVIVE, and Cellutone to get even faster results, more improvement, and less risk of combinations like nodules, swelling, neuropathy or paradoxical hyperplasia. Coolsculpting often takes a few treatments separated 8 to 12 weeks apart to get significant improvement. However, to get the most fat removal, contouring, skin tightening and definition, a VASER HI-DEF liposuction / liposculpture procedure with ThermiRF, Renuvion (J-Plasma), InMode BodyTite and fat grafting is your best bet. This will give you the most toned result. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a body contouring and hi-definition physique expert. Best, Dr. Emer.
We offer both CoolSculpting and EMSculpt at our practice. Which treatment is better would depend on each individuals concerns and the area of the body which we are treating. If your main issue is localized areas of bulky fat then CoolSculpting may be a better choice. If you have small areas of fat on your abdomen and are looking to tone, define, and build muscle while reducing smaller areas of fat then EMSculpt would be the better choice. The two treatments can also be used in combination to further enhance results. The best thing to do is to see an experienced physician for an in-person consultation and evaluation to determine the best treatment plan for you. Best wishes.
Thank you for your question! Coolsculpting targets the subcutaneous layer of fat cells (the pinchable layer of fat). It is amazing for targeting stubborn pockets of fat! It uses a freezing technology to freeze the target area to -11 degrees c, for a specific amount of time. The fat is then disposed of through your bodies lymphatic system over a period of 3-4 months. Emsculpt is the only machine on the market that can build muscle and shred fat at the same time. It is the equivalent of doing 20,000 squats or sit ups in 30 minutes. This is an amazing treatment to do if you are looking to tone and build your muscles or smooth out the area post coolsculpting!
Hello cg7734:CoolSculpting eliminates fat cells, permanently changing the contours of the body by reducing pockets of fat on many different areas of the body, almost anywhere on the body or neck.EmSculpt can bulk up muscles temporarily on the abdomen and buttock area. This can define your abdominal muscles if you are starting with a thin layer of fat over them, and enlarge the buttock muscles. They will lose their bulk over time and you will need to repeat the treatment. So they are not really competing treatments. They achieve different goals. I hope this helps a bit to answer your question. Sheryl Clark MD FAAD
