I’m 30 years old and have done several treatments in hopes of eliminating my double chin. None of them have worked. I’m not overweight, it’s hereditary. I’ve tried Kybella (1x), CoolSculpting (1x), and have done submental liposuction 2x (In this order!) I still have a lot of noticeable fat under my chin. The last surgeon said the scar tissue was in the way of him taking the fat out. How can there be scar tissue? is there anything else I can do to get rid of the submental fat?

Answer: One treatment of kybella and cool sculpt It is misleading to offer a patient a single dose of Kybella and expect much of a result--especially from your photograph. Kybella often will take 5 to 6 treatment sessions--each a little less traumatic than the previous. The advantages of these injections are preservation of other supportive structures to the skin that are disrupted by liposuction. Many surgeons prefer liposuction because it is single stage, but I have seen significant bunching of the skin, thick scarring and disappointing results on some occasions. We offer Coolsculpt as well but we like that Kybella can be targeted to the necessary zones. You need to visit with both a board certified plastic or facial plastic surgeon AND a board certified cosmetic dermatologist with Kybella experience before you make a decision. The last resort is an open submittal lipectomy which may require a skin tightening procedure depending upon skin elasticity and your age.
