Can smart lipo be approved by insurance if you are diagnosed with high cholesterol? (Photo)

Liposuction is not a weight loss strategy and is as likely to reduce your cholesterol as cutting off an arm or leg. That is why your insurance company will not pay. There are many thin people with high cholesterol levels. There are also many obese people with normal cholesterol levels. There are also many medications available to lower your cholesterol.

Like all elective cosmetic procedures, SmartLipo is unlikely to be covered by insurance companies. Although the associated weight loss and improved healthy lifestyle that often accompanies SmartLipo are beneficial, I am not aware of any direct correlation that can be documented in order for it to be reimbursed.

Smart lipo is purely a cosmetic procedure and will never be approved by insurance. In addition it will not lower the cholesterol level. Good luck bringing your cholesterol down. 

LIposuction tyically does not help with lowering your choelsterol.Weight loss with a combination of exercise and a heathy diet will.Save the smart lipo to help get rid of those few extra pounds at the end of your weight loss journey!

 Smart liposuction is not a weight reduction procedure. It is a body contouring procedure. Liposuction will not lower your overall cholesterol level. However, it does lower triglyceride level in one scientific study. I do not know of any medical insurance plan that would cover liposuction. Good luck with your weight loss program.

Insurance companies will not cover elective plastic surgery procedures. You will need to continue to lose weight by continuing to incorporate  a healthy diet and exercise into your lifestyle.  Be well. 

I do not know of any insurance company that will pay for liposuction.  Usually this is a self-pay procedure.
