Facelift surgery while wearing braces? I am 49 years old woman and I am planning the facelift surgery in July.

Thank you for your question.  If you were having dental implants and reconstruction of your teeth then this maybe a concern, however braces should not cause skin to lose elasticity around the mouth area.  All The Best 

I have performed facelifts on several patients with braces over the past 12 years and have not found there to be any problems with achieving the desired result.  

A facelift is indicated when you have falling, ptotic facial skin. Dental braces move the teeth in a front to back or sideways position but the degree of movement is so small that it does not effect the falling face or perioral soft tissues. This would require something like the Juvabite system to improve the look of the lower face.

Braces should not "get in the way" of the facial recontouring that typically occurs with standard-approach facelift surgery; indeed, that is not meant to pull or recontour the lip areas directly.  I agree with others who have stated to give yourself adequate recovery time (at least 4 weeks) before undergoing removal or other dental procedures.  Hopefully all goes well!

The removal of your braces should not be affected adversely by the facelift.  However, depending on the technique used, you may be a bit sore in opening your mouth for a dental exam within the 2-3 weeks after your facelift.  Just schedule your visits carefully to avoid a dental exam or procedure within this recovery period. 

Braces may affect the shape of a face. Even after
removal of braces there is a period of facial tissues
accommodation. I will suggest to wait after your
