Realistically, how much will my nasal tip drop and when will it happen? (Photo)

There are changes that occur to the shape of the nose over the next few months.  Ask you surgeon if there could be any role for gentle massage of your tip downward during this time.  If a revision is necessary, you do not necessarily need to wait a year.  

At only 10 days post op there is significant swelling present in the nose.  This will gradually dissipate over several months.  During this time there may be some change in the amount of tip rotation visible, however, this is generally not a great deal of change.  Revision would not be performed in most cases until the swelling has subsided.

Hello and thank you for your question. It is very normal to be swollen at 10 days postoperative. The dorsal aspect of the bridge of the nose will usually decrease earlier than the nasal tip swelling. Nasal tip swelling can sometimes take 6-12 months to fully resolve. I advise patients that the final result of rhinoplasty takes 12 months. I recommend that you return to see your surgeon, as he/she will have a good idea of what to expect in regards to your specific progress, since they can evaluate you in relation to your preoperative appearance.Best wishes and good luckRichard G.
