The bellybutton should healed right in step with the rest of the incisions. As days and weeks go by, the scars tend to get flatter and smoother. It may take three months before you have a good idea of what the bellybutton will finally look like.

Your surgeon is the best person to discuss this with. There is a high risk of infection here, especially since you mention odour.

It typically takes a lot of pressure to disrupt a muscle repair. However, if you notice a bulge in your midline with some increased pain/tenderness, best to call your operating surgeon so you can be properly evaluated and examined in person. Good luck!!!

     I would recommend taking care of any ongoing infections prior to having an elective procedure like a tummy tuck.
