How long will swelling last around the mouth after injectable fillers?

It can take 1-2 weeks for swelling to resolve. I would wait a full 2 weeks before judging the results. If it is after the two week wait, you can have the filler reversed with hyaluronidase.

Hello. Thank you for your question. While everyone will have a slightly different experience, it is possible for some swelling and bruising to take up to two weeks to completely go away. For this reason, it’s best to schedule your appointment at least two weeks before a party or other big event to make sure you have enough time to heal before showing off your final results.
 

Swelling can last 1-2 weeks after injections. Keep in mind, a combination approach will give the most improvement. I recommend fillers for the folds themselves but also lifting around the mouth and cheeks to build underlying anatomical support. Thank you for sharing your excellent question.  Swelling after filler placement is quite common due to the thin nature of the lip tissues.  This swelling, and your results, will steadily improve over the first 3-5 days with up to 2 weeks needed for fillers to soften and the tissues to appear more natural.  You can reduce the swelling by using cold compresses and elevating your head at night with a couple of extra pillows behind your back.  You may want to also consider using Arnica Montana and bromelain as supplements.  Hang in there!

The swelling around the mouth after fillers is typically gone by 3-5 days. Unfortunately bruising can linger for 5-10 days.  You should avoid any aspirin, ibuprofen, NSAIDS in general, and fish oil for at least 5 days prior to injection.  I also highly recommend the herbal medication Arnica Montana to all injectable patients 

If the goal of your having the injections is to enlarge your lips, a few days to a week of swelling and bruising is expected if you are being injected with a cannula (a needle without  point). Cannulas are less likely to penetrate small blood vessels, so there is less risk of bruising and swelling than with injections with a needle. I highly recommend using a cannula. In addition, the results are smoother with cannulas.
If the injections are for reducing the wrinkles around the mouth, then 2-3 days is the usual time for swelling to subside, providing there is no bruising. These must be injected with a very small needle.Thank you for your question, and good  luck.

Bruising and swelling can last up to two weeks after injections.  Before your procedure you want to avoid aspirin, NSAIDS, and Vitamin E.  These can contribute to bruising.  Some patients find using the supplements Arnica and Bromelain helpful to minimize these side effects.

I find that most swelling comes down within a few days except when the lips are treated. they can take a week or two.

The swelling and bruising will improve on its own over the first few days to week after treatment but can take up to 2 weeks to completely resolve. Lips tends to swell and bruise more then other parts of the face.
