Are There Ways to Decrease the Thickness of Nasal Skin?

The query's been raised many times but the answers weren't sufficient. R there non-surgical ways to reduce nasal skin on tip? My nose's always been slightly boxy and pointy, but still cute. It got swollen, oily and much bigger in adolescence but I don't thing I have Rhinophyma. Sometimes it's slimmer, so maybe it can be improved? I know about retinoids, laser dermabrassion, steroids, but need more info. Thermage maybe? I want only 5-10% reduction, nothing dramatic.

If you have a lot of oil glands in your nose, this may be leading to a thicker nasal tip appearance. Sometimes a low-dose of isotretinoin may be helpful. This is typically prescribed by a dermatologist. I hope this is helpful. Sincerely, Dr. Joseph

It is possible that radiofrequency microneedling (e.g. morpheus 8) could do this for you. We have had success with that precise application.

Hello, hope you are well. There are surgical and non-surgical options that are highly individualized. If it's an issue of early rhinophyma/rosacea, I would encourage you to see a dermatologist for consideration of medical management. I often thin the skin-soft tissue envelope surgically during rhinoplasty to show more tip definition--this is a technique commonly referred to as SMAS debulking. This may also be an option depending on your goals and anatomy.
