Is it safe to have Botox treatment if I have lupus?

However your medical condition need to be stable and under control. Hi, I have many patients with Lupus who have been having Botulinum Toxin for years without any problems and as far as I am aware there is no evidence that it causes flares of lupus. I would be very wary about other treatments such as fillers however which are much riskier in patients with Lupus

It is normally safe to have botox operation if your body functions and lupus nephritis conditions are under control. There is no specific problem about them. As normally, if your doctor say that it's OK after the tests and examination, you can have botox or other cosmetic operations.

There should be no danger with receiving Botox with a diagnosis of lupus.  It is important to clear with your doctor who knows you medical history and medications.  Some medications taken by lupus patients such as steroids or aspirin or other anti-inflammatory medicines may cause more bruising.  Bring any medications or a list to the doctor who will be providing your Botox treatment and the contact information of your doctor treating you for lupus should a discussion be warranted.

     I would definitely discuss your concerns with the physician overseeing your Lupus treatment. If they are ok with your treatment, then you should be able to move forward with Botox injections. Make sure you are consulting with an expert, and make sure they are aware of your medical issues, as well as the medications you are currently on. Hope this helps.
