I am 5'3" 168 lbs. With BMI of 29.8. I eat healthy and have an active lifestyle, yet I can't seem to lose the weight. Also, if I do not qualify, are there alternative weight loss procedures that would help. Thank you.

Hello, gastric bypass surgery is recommended if your BMI is over 50 and you have type 2 diabetes. So that your insulin level could be kept under control. Otherwise sleeve gastrecotomy will be a suitable option for weight loss.

Hello, if you do not have type 2 diabetes you do not need an gastric bypass surgery and instead, we recommend sleeve gastrectomy. Before surgery for all patients we get approval of Chest Diseases Specialist, Cardiologist, Internal Medicine Specialist and Anesthesiologist. These doctors will examine you and will give their approval before surgery.

Hello, after sleeve gastrectomy we expect achieving healthy weight within 2 years. After losing some weight it is normal to stop losing fat for a while and that time we recommend to do more exercise. For fat burning you should follow a healthy diet and exercise daily, simple math: you should burn more than you should take. If sleeve gastrectomy is not successful we do mini gastric bypass but before that a detailed blood tests and body check up is required. 

I had the sleeve 20 months ago and only lost weight in the first 8 months, I lost 6 stone and have stayed the same since. I need to still lose about 6 more stone, would you suggest that i get a conversion to the MGB or Full Bypass?

Hello, we could recommend sleeve gastrectomy surgery rather than gastric bypass. Intragastric balloon will have a limited effect and once it is removed you could gain weight again. According to your bmi it looks like gastric sleeve is the best option.

I have been approved for bariatric surgery and was told a bypass would be best for me. However, I'm not sure I really want to lose as much weight as I probably would with that. I would be perfectly happy losing only 40-50 lbs, would something such as orbera be a better option for me? I am 34, 5'8 and 235 lbs. I had a tummy tuck 2 years ago and bbl 5 years ago. I'm hoping to do the least amount of damage to them as possible. Any advice would be appreciated

Hi, if your BMI is low (less than 30) we do not recommend you to have gastric sleeve surgery. In that case you can have non surgical weight loss procedures such as gastric botox and gastric balloon. These are both endoscopic and NON surgical methods. Both treatment takes 6 months and within this time you are expected reach your healthy weight.
