I have 325cc moderate plus profile - Do I need a lift? (photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Hi, thanks for the question. Obviously you would need to have a detailed consult and examination by a fully registered Plastic Surgeon but yes looking at your images you would benefit from a mastopexy (uplift). Over time and with changes (including ageing, pregnancy, breast feeding, weight loss) the breast tissue (and nipple) will naturally drop down as the supporting ligaments keeping it up weaken. Your implants which are most likely under the muscle have stayed high (likely in the appropriate position as the muscle helps to keep them up) but your breast has slid down over them and now sits below the natural crease. A mastopexy would be required to bring the breast tissue and nipple back to the appropriate position and reorientate/remove the loose skin. It can also help to shrink the areola diameter which is often enlarged after pregnancy. Hope that helps. Best wishes with any consults or surgery.

Will these tattoos get deformed with BA? (Photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Hi thanks for your great question. I always warn patients who have moles or tattoos close to their breast that their location can change after breast augmentation. It all depends on the proximity of the tattoo/mole, size of implants, existing breast tissue and tissue laxity. If larger implants with minimal tissue laxity are used or your natural fold needs to be lowered to accommodate the implant then residual skin needs to be recruited and this can affect the position of your tattoo. You would need fully assessed by a certified plastic surgeon in person to have a definitive answer. My advice would be to get your tattoos after any breast enlargement surgery, so they are in the perfect position for you. However from the pictures in your question these tattoos look as though they aren’t close to the breast boundary so are unlikely to be affected by breast enlargement to any great degree. Hope that helps and wish you all the best with your tattoos and breast enlargement surgery.

How common is it for a plastic surgeon to perform an extended arm lift? (Photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Whilst a forearm reduction can be performed the resultant scarring is often not acceptable to many patients. With many body contouring procedures the goal is to hide the scars as well as possible. The problem with forearm reduction is that the scarring would be very visible and in comparison to arm reduction surgery there is a greater degree of poorer outcomes. You should be a assessed by a fully certified plastic surgeon to assess your skin quality etc. Sometimes the results you are looking for can be achieved by other means such as LASER assisted liposuction. Which can tighten the skin to a degree in some patients.

Is a breast reduction realistic for my body? 27yo. 5'3". 155-160lbs. I wear a 34DDD (Photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Hi thanks for your question. Breast reduction is often a very emotive topic for patients but many ultimately find it very rewarding. My happiest group of patients are often the breast reduction patients and they are glad they had it done. From the symptoms you describe a breast reduction may help. You would need full discussion and examination by a certified plastic surgeon but based on your photographs you a have a degree of ptosis (nipple below the natural fold of your breast) and a degree of breast asymmetry, all of which can be addressed by breast reduction. With regards to justification obviously this is a personal choice and all surgery is not without risk but it sounds as though you have been having troublesome symptoms and are young so may gain additional benefit from having surgery sooner rather than later in life. I would recommend you attend your consult and have a discussion and examination. Best of luck

If I've previously had liposuction in 2012 of my stomach, can I still have a tummy tuck?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Hi thanks for asking your question. Obviously you will require full discussion and examination by a certified plastic surgeon to assess the specific needs of your case but based on your question alone previous liposuction doesn’t preclude a tummy tuck. In fact liposuction is often considered at the same time as a tummy tuck or even before for troublesome areas of fat or loose skin not addressed by the tummy tuck procedure. Revisions are often considered when someone has had a poor/unacceptable result to recent previous surgery at a reduced rate or free. It is unlikely your previous surgeon would offer this on a revisional basis given the time lapsed and different indication and perhaps that is what they mean by not doing revisions. Best of luck

I’m curious how I can get liposuction done if it is extremely difficult to find my veins?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Anaesthetists (anaesthesiologists) are experts in finding vascular access. They are often the people called upon when others fail to take blood or obtain venous access. This can be aided through use of ultrasound etc so I am sure when you have been assessed they will be able to offer this for you. Alternatively small volume Liposuction can often be performed under local anaesthesia alone

If I get a tummy tuck, can I just opt to not have a belly button at all? I know this is a weird question

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Dear catcat812, it is definitely your choice to opt for no belly button. Actually it makes the "tummy tuck" operation technically easier. However, I would warn you that to have "no belly button" may look odd and draw attention. During a well planned tummy tuck operation the new belly button created can actually look more aesthetically please than the old one. I would recommend having a discussion with an experienced plastic surgeon about what type of belly button you would be looking for post surgery and they may be able to help you achieve this. Best of luck and kind regards

What level of tuberous breast deformity do I have and is it possibly to achieve natural results through surgery? (Photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Hi, from looking at your photographs alone, you do not appear to have the clinical features associated with classical tuberous breast deformity. I would recommend a consultation with an experienced plastic surgeon who can discuss your concerns/wishes, examine you and then provide a detailed assessment and recommendation in an effort to help you attain your goals. From your photographs you appear to be a good candidate for a breast augmentation should you wish to have more volume/shape. Best of luck

Lipo for a fit 5’2", 120lb female with cellulite on abdomen? (Photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

You are fit and healthy with good bmi, it also doesn’t look as though you have a lot of skin excess. In my opinion you wood be a good candidate for liposuction particularly LASER liposuction (such as smart lipo) or ultrasound assisted liposuction (such as vaser). Not only do these techniques allow volume to be reduced they will tighten the overlying skin. You already have a great physique this can allow it to be etched, ensure you go to a well recognised and established practitioner in these techniques. Best of luck.

I'm a 30 year old female considering 240cc implants. Is this too small?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Hi,

Implant sizing and selection is extremely variable and very patient centred. In general about each 125-150cc equals one Bra cup size increase. Implant selection thus is a complex process and depends on what each individual patient would like to achieve, the characteristics of each individual patient (I.e. breast base width and height, skin pinch, body habitus, ptosis, chest wall symmetry etc) and of course surgical concerns such as subpec, subglandular or dual plane. Preoperative Bra Gel sizers can help to aid in your decision making or more complex things such as the vectra imaging system which can give a 3D representation of what each implant may be able to achieve in your unique case can be helpful. Kind regards

My results are truly more than I could've hoped for

My experience with Mr Gilmour & Elanic has been fantastic. From my first consultantation to my time post surgery I have felt so well looked after, supported & respected. I felt that Adam knew exactly what I wanted from my procedure immediately. He understood how it would impact my job & how to work with that, how I wanted to look in relation to the rest of my body, how I felt emotionally about it (he made sure to check in there too) & he relayed all of this information with no pressure or any comment that made me feel that I had to book in with him there & then. I knew however, that he was absolutely the right surgeon for me. The surgery day itself was genuinely a very positive experience, I expected to be nervous as I am prone to anxiety, but felt completely relaxed, I knew I was safe with Adam & found him a calming presence to be around pre surgery. My after care was absolutely fantastic (thank you to the Elanic nurses!) & My results are truly more than I could've hoped for. I am over the moon with my breast augmentation, it's exactly what I had envisioned (better even!) Mr Gilmour has helped me feel at peace with my body, in balance & more myself than I've ever felt. I really wouldn't hesitate to recommend such a talented & caring surgeon & can't thank Adam enough for all he's done. It's a pleasure to recommend Adam & elanic.

Explained everything in great detail, including what could go wrong

When I first met Adam he made me feel at ease and comfortable considering I was really nervous about the surgery I was considering. He explained everything in great detail, including what could go wrong. He allowed me to ask as many questions as I needed which in turn made me confident in making my decision to go ahead. I couldn't be happier with the results that Adam has managed to achieve for me and I would highly recommend him.

2 months post-op full tummy tuck, muscle repair and flanks lipo

I really liked Mr Gilmour from the minute I met him. He was very open and honest in terms of my expectations and outcome following my tummy tuck. We discussed the procedure in great detail, including what he felt was best for me (full TT, MR, lipo to the flanks). He was very responsive by email after the initial in office consultation in answering my many questions around the surgery itself, and very open for any follow up questions I had. On the day of surgery I saw him before and after the surgery, he gave me a full run through of what happened while I was under, including skin removal, lipo, MR. The surgery itself was a complete success. I saw him around 6wpo and we were both delighted with my recovery so far. I did have an allergy problem with the tape which he responded to (email) within about 15 minutes. This has since healed nicely. I am now considering a breast uplift and wouldn’t be looking any further than Mr Gilmour. On top of his surgical expertise he seems like a genuinely nice person who cares about patient outcomes. I cannot recommend enough. He has changed my life.

Breast Implant Revision

Superb Treatment and Results

Dr Adam Gilmour did a first class job of removing my ruptured PIP implants and replacing them with Johnson & Johnson ones - I couldn't have been in better hands. Lumps of silicone had developed in my lymph glands and I was able to see Dr Gilmour very quickly to get the faulty implants removed & replaced through the Elanic Clinic. He gave me lots of imformation about the type of implant he recommended and about why he proposed to put them under my muscle rather than on top. All my questions were answered by him very clearly, including explaining the risks of having the lymph glands removed, so I took his advice not to do so. He told me that when he operated on me, he discovered that the gel in my PIP implants had liquified, so he took great care to ensure all the material was removed and took swabs to check that there was no infection. I am very pleased with the look of my new implants; they are a perfect size (same bra size as before), my nipples are lovely & level (better than before), plus the scars are very neat and hidden underneath on the fold of my skin. An excellent result! I requested that Dr Gilmour provided my GP with details of the state of the PIP implants, and the tests taken, so this is on my record in case I develop problems later, and he very kindly provided a very detailed report for me. My follow up consultation with him was after 8 months due to the pandemic, and again he answered all my questions, and treated me very professionally & with respect. I highly recommend him as a plastic surgeon - although hopefully won't be needing to see him again!
