I received 375 cc left breast and 350 cc right breast high profile under the muscle 3 months ago. I stressed to the surgeon that my biggest fear was going too big. I am 5 ft 2 125 lb. I’m comfortable with my breast from the front but they stick out way too much which makes me few heavy. I’d love to downsize without a breast lift. Would 50 or 75 cc make much of a difference? I really don’t want a massive amount of sag. I was a 34 B with a little sag preop now I’m a 34 D but will love a C.

Answer: I want to downsize my breast implant. Would 50 or 75 cc make much of a difference? 50cc is 3 tablespoons and 1 teaspoon of volume, and makes a barely-perceptible change that in my opinion is not worth the cost (and slight risk) of the surgery. 75cc will make a visible difference, but a subtle one. If you're buying new implants anyway, I would consider going to a moderate plus rather than a high profile implant, which will also help your "stick out way too much" appearance. The combination of both size and profile change will make all the difference, and will significantly diminish your concerns. You won't go down a full cup size with 75cc, but with size plus projection change, I believe your look will be excellent, and you will not require or benefit from a lift. Please also realize that every patient is her own worst critic--no one else will look at you and say anything but "Wow; you look fabulous, dahling!" Also, healing, settling, and softening are not complete until 6-12 months post-op. Let this time pass to both to see how things change further before you decide exactly what you want, and how you feel about your look then. In the meantime, do not stress over this--you DO look great and should enjoy it, even if you do decide to tweak things down the road. Best wishes! Dr. Tholen

Answer: 75cc will make a difference, likely NOT a cup size difference like your talking, challenging thing is dropping down 100cc you will have to also change profiles most likely, which may not give you the "look" you are trying to achieve. Go back to your surgeon and have a discussion about your goals
