8 months 1 week post-op, FUE, hair transplant? How realistic is achieving a good frontal coverage at this point? (Photos)

Question

There is a large gap between the old hairline and new hairline and the crown hasn't exactly grown in either. There is some growth in the new hair line, but little or no growth between the old and new. Is this a case of no blood supply? Could PRP sessions help to get some growth going as this looks extremely unnatural at this point? Is there anything I can do at all besides dermarolling and minoxidil? I had 1500 grafts in the front and 500 grafts in the crown.

We tell our patients that at 8 months they have a pretty good idea of graft survival and the final result of the procedure.  It would be unlikely that there will be substantial growth between 8 months and one year.  You should be scheduled for a one year follow up with your clinic to discuss graft survival and reasons for what looks like a substandard result.

It can take 6 to 12 months after surgery to see results.  If you are concerned it is best to contact your doctor.  If you keep your very short it probably will not match your native hair in the back.

At 8 months post-op it is still relatively early in the growth process and it should improve for up to 12-15 months. The distribution of grafts at the hairline and the blend with pre-existing hair should be discussed with your surgeon. PRP may help to stimulate or enhance the growth, but I would prefer to do this at the time of surgery or within the first 3-6 month post-op.

İt is not realistic thought to have a better density after 8 months . Your op. has been failed and you need a new one .PRP and others do not work for that.
The most outstanding reason for poor growth and ineffectual  hair restoration results is insufficient number of viable graft placement as a result of intra operative  damage of follicular units ( during insertion or high transection rates during harvesting, long time of grafts out of body, dehydratation, poor FU storage conditions like high room temperature and storage fluids etc.)
Hair grafting/ transplant can be an option for forehead reduction and correcting  asymmetry on your frontal hair line/forelock.I advice you have a FUE; you would get the desired hairline in just one sesssion of dense packing hair transplant.

At 8 months you will be at about 70% growth, at 12 months you will be at roughly 90% growth. The crown can take longer to see full growth then the frontal region. Remain patient and continue to follow your doctors post op care instructions.

At  8 months most of your growth should have happened by now. It's still likely you'll see some more growth naturally, but it probably won't make a significant difference for you. I would follow up with your doctor about your results- PRP may help or it may make the most sense to simply have a second procedure done.

PRP is for hair loss not for hair growth...infact nothing other than a proper hair transplant can help you out...so better to visit the doctor and consult him,...if possible do share your before and immediately after pictures here for better evaluation.

This looks like a significant reduced growth of the grafts. I would go back and see your doctor and ask why the results are not better than this

8 months is too early to tell if there is graft failure. That is not to say that you don't have a failed procedure, but wait for another 4-5 months. Before pictures would be helpful as it appears some of the anterior hair grafts are growing. Follow up with your surgeon. PRP is not helpful in hair restoration and studies bear that out.
