I nearly received the results i desired. I still have a rather large bald spot on the top of my head. Dr. Goertz stated to me before the procedure that his highest priority is to "frame the face." He and his staff did this successfully. I am pleased with the final look.
I reached out to Dr. Goertz in 2016 and visited two other major hair transplantation clinics in seattle-Bellevue around that time. I felt more confident with Dr. Goertz consultation out of the three I visited and decided to proceed. However, I took the decision in 2017 due to other personal reasons. Dr. Goertz is pretty knowledgeable and I felt he is be very passionate about his work. He not only suggested regular medicine that other doctor's usually suggest such as Finasteride and Rogaine but also the healthy diet plan to follow on regular basis. His website contains full information about all these. He took the pictures before the procedure and has given all the instructions very clearly on how my experience would be post-procedure and what medication to take in case of any issues. My experience post-procedure was exactly what he explained earlier and there were no surprises. His colleague Sonia was also very helpful in answering all my questions post-procedure. Overall, I got good results after 1 year and I am satisfied with the outcome. My friends started recognizing the difference and after seeing the before/after pictures of mine, I felt the clear difference myself too. Out of all these, it was fun having a chat with him.
Dr. Goertz has provided me with very good service and attentive care. I would recommend him to everyone I know that needs to have any of his procedures done. After my procedure he gave me a couple of days and called me to check up to determine how I was. This would not be much of a surprise if it was a weekday but he called me on Sunday on his personal time. This is what it means to care for a patient. he is a very confident doctor and it shows but where it shows the most is in his work and the care he provides to his patients. I have recommended him to many of the people that I work with and even others I interact with. I hope that they have found him and have gained the extra confidence that comes with hair restoration. Thank you
So glad I found Dr Goertz! Society hasn't come around to female hair loss being considered 'acceptable' or a sign of maturity. As a female physician, I feel that much of my credibility has to do with physical appearance--more so than for a man. Facing thinning hair and wondering what I'd look like in another few years weighed heavily. The consult, procedure, and follow-up were handled in a personalized, professional and private manner. I am quite pleased with the outcome. I will never have a full head of thick hair, but what Dr. Goertz did went beyond restoring the hair I’d lost; he also restored the optimism and confidence I once had. My only regret is that I didn't do it sooner.
I'm 3 days post op FUT hair transplant performed by Dr. Brian Goertz. I have kinky hair (4c hair) and was really nervous about getting a hair transplant. I went for consultation a couple weeks ago and the doctor was great, explained everything I needed know about the procedure and answered all my questions. The day of surgery, he and his staff were nice and professional. They made me feel very comfortable and did an amazing job. I would highly recommend Dr. Briand Goertz to anybody that has been struggling with hair loss and thinking about getting a hair transplant. He is genuine and a great doctor and you will definitely be in good hands. I will write an update of my results in a few months. Wish you all the best of luck.
I don't typically write online reviews, but in this case I feel compelled to do so. The work of Dr. Goertz has completely changed my life for the better. Call it vanity, but the amount of stress I experienced when I realized aggressive MPB was in my future was crippling. I was barely 30, and working hard to excel in my personal and professional capacities. The loss of my hair was completely outside of my control, and filled me with anxiety every time I looked into a mirror. As those who suffer from this condition know, it rapidly drains your vitality, self-confidence, and optimism for whatever comes next. I spent a good deal of time browsing the internet for solutions, only to end up confused and disappointed. Many accounts of a transplant procedure are negative, and specialists in the industry can seem like charlatans. The last thing I wanted was to end up looking worse than I was destined to, with a freakish scar, a "pluggy" doll-head, or a procedure that didn't take at all. If you're reading this, I'm sure you've read plenty of horror stories about Propecia (Finastride) and what it has allegedly done to men's overall wellness. Needless to say, I was skeptical of taking any action and begrudgingly began to resign myself to a life of shaving my head. Before I threw in the towel, I took a chance and scheduled a consultation with Dr. Goertz. I don't remember precisely why I chose his office first, but I remember being impressed with some of the content on his website, namely a section entitled "Avoiding a bad hair transplant". This was unique to the sites I visited, which seemed to focus on flash, grandiose promises, and new gadgetry/robots. The website seemed to promote realistic expectations of what was possible and focused entirely on the QUALITY of a procedure. It felt authentic, professional, and not at all like "Used Car" style advertising I had seen elsewhere. I was equally impressed with Dr. Goertz's commitment to holistic healing from the inside. Although nervous, my first consultation went well. The office is relatively plain, and far from flashy or high-tech. Don't let this skew your expectations. Much like "hole-in-the-wall restaurants", the end-product is often far better than it's surroundings portray. Dr. Goertz's assistant, Sonia, is extremely pleasant and professional. Dr. Goertz wrote me a prescription for Finastride, which I held onto for about a week. I expressed my fears about the drug, which he calmly provided supporting evidence to assuage. Dr. Goertz laid out a plan of action for an FUT procedure and asked for my inputs on his design. I remember feeling greedy and naively asking for a 15 year old's hairline, straight across my forehead. (Afterall, I want my money's worth if i'm going to do this!) I also feared the FUT itself, instead attempting to lean towards the supposedly "scarless" FUE route. What followed was the most reassuring thing Dr. Goertz could do to prove his authenticity and commitment to natural and realistic results...he more/less told me he wouldn't be willing to do such a thing. Dr. Goertz prides himself as an artist and was only willing to do what would realistically improve my appearance. We settled on a hairline that followed my natural pattern and included "insurance" for the possibility of future loss should my hair not stabilize on medication. Admittedly, I was somewhat frustrated. Maybe a small part of me wanted to hear grandiose promises of "one-procedure and you'll have hair like Clooney". But I went ahead with scheduling the procedure anyways. It was my last ditch effort to thwart genetics. This would turn out to be a fantastic decision. I followed Dr. Goertz's supplement and diet recommendations, took the Finastride, and had my first of two procedures several months later. The procedures were simple, comfortable, and well executed. I had nearly 7500 FUT grafts completed between two procedures and the results are staggering. I may be an exceptional candidate, but two full years later, I feel like I have more hair than I did in high school! I never imagined this kind of result, as I felt Dr. Goertz under promised and over delivered. My scar has healed beautifully and is now undetectable at a #2 guard. I absolutely wouldn't trust FUT work to anyone else. It's not a surprise that a large portion of his practice is fixing other people's poor previous procedures. If you're a candidate for this type of procedure, please do yourself a favor and see Dr. Goertz. Don't fall for flashy ads, expensive tech, and big promises. Nothing can replace the hands and expertise of a skilled surgeon who has devoted his life to perfecting a particular procedure. Dr. Goertz is a warm soul who genuinely cares about the well-being of his patients and how losing their hair affects their emotional state. I feel so grateful that I picked his practice first and shudder to think what might have been otherwise.
Dr. Brian Goertz is highly skilled in hair transplant procedure. My hair transplant procedure was very successful thanks to Dr. Brain and his whole team. They are all professionals and I am happy with the result as well. I will definitely recommend Dr. Brain if you decided to do Hair transplant. Thank you for the perfect work Dr. Brian!!
I recently went to see Dr. Goertz about my hair loss and my visit to his clinic far exceeded my expectations. Sonia was extremely nice to me as well. Dr. Goertz explained to me that I’m not currently a candidate for a hair transplant (crushed my feelings), but immediately explained my problem in great detail, giving me a plan, medication, a strict diet and a list supplements that will help my hair return or at least make me a candidate for the procedure in the future should I need it. I had read so much on the internet and watched so many video on YouTube that I was having a hard time discerning the truth. You can tell that he’s passionate about what he does, he has your best interest at heart and he listens to your concerns! I nearly canceled my appointment to go see Bosley instead, I’m so glad I kept my appointment with Dr. Goertz. If you’re losing your hair and it’s emotionally/mentally draining you, you owe it to yourself to schedule and appointment with him. I would absolutely recommend Dr. Goertz to anyone who’s going through hair loss.
I would like to say “Thank-you” to Dr. Goertz. For many years my hair had been thinning. Before I would leave for work, I would brush my hair around to minimize my scalp showing. Then I would use hair spray to keep it in place. This was the best I could do. When I completed my admission form for the Hair Transplant Seattle clinic, I wrote.... that for women, their hair is their crown of glory...and I only had a tiara. Now I feel confident in my appearance. I look in the mirror and I love what I see. When my husband and I were hiking, he stated that I actually looked like I had a thick head of hair! That's a first! Dr. Goertz is a master in his field. He stated that he felt “creative” when we began our session. He knew where to place the grafted hair to create a natural look. I am very pleased and am happy to write this review. Sincerely, A very satisfied client!
Growing up watching my father do the famous 'Comb Over' or the "Black Hair Spray" to cover a bald spot left me wondering for years would I have to face those decisions my father had to face in my 40's and 50's? The answer was yes! As I lost my hair more more each year I felt helpless until I made a decision to reach out and see what other options were there for my needs. I looked at the bigger hair companies and quickly lost interest. Then I thought "There has to be someone local that has done this for years!" and there was. Dr Goertz at Seattle Restoration was my choice. Not only was the price 40-60% less than the big name businesses Dr Goertz has a friendly professional demeanor that will put you at ease immediately. After my consultation with Dr Goertz I was ready for the procedure that day, but I had to make an appointment like everyone else. The day of the surgery flew by so fast (loved the movies and snacks they provided) before I knew it I was headed back home. I was sore for a day or two but back to coaching gymnastics a few days later. Fast forward 9 months later and I am a changed man (well....still Kelly but I love the way I look and feel about myself each day in public). I think my dad would be very proud of my decision and I can see my two sons are happy that I am happier about my looks. They now know if they have to face a similar decision like their dad did that it is OK to reach out and see what options are available for them and not to be ashamed or afraid of making improvements for the own personal lives. Thank you Dr Goertz and your cool staff (Sonia is a top notch professional). Cheers ~Kelly~
These comments should be reviewed carefully by all who desire a good hair restoration result and not a specific comment on your results. Careful homework and research should go into deciding who is best to address an individuals hair restoration needs. Artistry and surgical skill includes the following to achieve great hair transplant results and avoiding a bad hair transplant result: 1. Hairline design. 2. Proper angulation of recipient sites. 3. Appropriate number of hairs per graft depending on site of placement 4. Appropriate placement of grafts to prevent pitting or cobble-stoning. Unfortunately, there are a growing number of bad hair restoration surgical results.
Yes, hairline can be lowered with a hair transplant. A well qualified hair restoration surgeon will take a proper history and guide you as to best way to accomplish your realistic goals. Investigate artistry, reputation and results of the surgeons you plan to see.
Hairline lowering with hair transplantation will look more natural than having a scar from hair line lowering followed by hair transplantation. However, hair transplantation after hairline advancement surgery will help to hide potential scarring.
Full hair transplant results will be evident between 10 and 12 months after surgery. Best to see what final outcome is at that time. In addition, hair loss continues and is not stopped by a hair transplant.
After hair follicles are removed from their blood supply, they must be cared for appropriately to ensure maximal survival. It includes techniques to reduce metabolic activity of the follicles. Improper handling and preparation also affect graft survival.
