Yes, you can expect some loose skin, but you should still be happy with your results. However, I would encourage you to consider adding the flanks. It will help with your overall results. Best, Dr. Nazarian
you need liposuction and a tummy tuck, I would suggest NOT getting just liposuction of the stomach alone. you need your whole torso lipoed and then skin removed on the front for the best results. Dr. Emer.
After liposuction of your abdomen you will definitely have loose skin. Generally the flank area does very well even in people have a lot of fat. From the pictures it looks like that will not be a problem for you.
You are an excellent candidate for a staged procedure that would be liposuction followed by a tummy tuck to tailor the extra skin. Best of luck
Based on your photos, I would recommend VASER liposuction of your whole back, waist, hips and abdomen. This way, you will tighten your skin circumferentially, but you might still end up with some lose skin above the pubic area. To get the best results in body shape, eventually you would benefit from a tummy tuck, 6-8 months post your liposuction. Good luck.
Hello,You are not an ideal candidate for liposuction of the abdomen. You already have skin that is folding over upon itself and a significant amount of fatty tissue that once removed, would cause significant deflation of the skin. If you realize that this will not yield a perfect result, and that you may have skin wrinkling, as well as more skin folds and irregularities, then you can move forward with the surgery. Your best option, however would be a liposuction and abdominoplasty combination surgery that would address your abdomen in a more complete way. Liposuction of the hips and flanks typically creates a more uniform look to the torso in people that would benefit from liposuction in those areas.Best of luck!
Although liposuction of the abdomen, sides, and back can markedly improve your physique, you will likely need a tummy tuck to address the skin laxity of the abdomen.Kenneth Hughes, MDBeverly Hills, CA
Thank you for your question. Yes you will have loose skin, epically since you already have loose skin to the abdomen and it is starting to fold over. If you do liposuction to your abdomen you are at a higher risk for the loose skin to fold over even more than it is now. When doing surgery to treat the abdomen you will have a overall better result treating the flanks and hips at the same time. If you are not able to do the flanks and hips at the same time you can always do it in the future.
Your lower abdominal skin is not great but I agree that liposuction is probably your best first option as it will give you the most visual change for the least money/risk/scars compared to abdominoplasty alone. As far as doing your flanks and hips, I agree that you should seriously consider that as it will add significantly to your overall result for controlled increase in cost/risk and no increase in recovery time.
You already have some skin laxity.Liposuction will make it worse. The question is how much worse and does that change in skin texture justify the improvements from liposuction. based on your picture you appear to be a good candidate for liposuction with a substantial layer of subcutaneous fat.As long as the liposuction is done well most patients like you tend to appreciate the improvement in contour enough to except some changes in the way the skin looks. If you lost a significant amount of weight your skin would change as well. if you had a choice of losing weight without an effort would you do so even if your skin looked a little different afterwards? Are you a candidate and would consider an abdominoplasty? That is the only realistic alternative procedure one that would tighten your loose skin. Make sure the doctor you are seeing is a board-certified plastic surgeon.. A doctor that does not have the ability to perform an abdominoplasty but does liposuction will give you a biased opinion in regards to which of those is a better procedure. Best,Mats Hagstrom M.D.
I typically have my patients wear and change pads/foam dressings on their incision sites under their compression garments for 7 days following a liposuction procedure or until dressings appear dry. After that, no dressings are needed, but I prescribe the pressure garment to be worn for 8 weeks...
Great question. The reality is, if there were no dents before the liposuction, there should not be dents after the procedure. Some people have skin with laxity, dents and ripples before liposuction which may be exacerbated after the liposuction. Much has to to with experience, technique and...
Well, there are a lot of factors that can cause creases. The biggest concerns timing after your surgery. Creases appearing shortly after surgery very often disappear as swelling subsides. Compressive garments worn after surgery are certainly helpful in reducing swelling more...
