Answer: Pregnancy after a Tummy Tuck In my opinion the first priority is for your safety and the safety of your baby. Please contact both your gynecologist and plastic surgeon immediately and let them review your options with you. Please know that I have seen patients go through pregnancies after Tummy Tucks with no pregnancy complications and very little additional surgery required to correct the changes of pregnancy that occurred (although one patient did require release of the muscle separation repair in the early part of her pregnancy and which we repaired easily after she completed breast feeding). Please contact your doctors immediately!

Answer: You should be fine.... of course its not a 'perfect' situation and you would likely have delayed your tummy tuck if you thought there was a good chance you would get pregnant, but life is full of the unexpected.... if you were my patient I would tell you not to worry about it too much.... by the time your baby starts to get big enough to matter, it will be 4-6 months from now when your TT is fully healed... and besides, your tummy will grow slowly enough to allow for gradual expansion and stretchingFor many reasons, it would be probably be a good idea to be cared for by a 'high risk' OB so that you can be followed a bit more closely...stay in touch with your PS as well....it might be nice/helpful to have them around particularly if you need a c-section.... once you've delivered, take at least a year before you deem your result final.... most patients in your situation go on to deliver normally and have their tummy tuck results preserved satisfactorily... a revision will likely be possible if necessarygood luck to you (both)
