Could bad Botox effect take more than 6 months to wear off?

While Botox effects can last longer than the usual 3-4 months, it is very rare. I would try to compare what you look like now to “before” photos, and if you are still concerned, visit your injector again for a follow-up. Even if it turns out you are still experiencing some lingering Botox effects, they will wear off soon. Botox is a temporary treatment.

The botox no longer be effective after six months. See your doctor and ask to review your pre-Botox photos to determine the variation. 

Thank you for your question.  It would be unusual for Botox to last this long, as it typically wears off in 3-4 months.  It is not unheard of that effects may last this long, but best to be seen in person by your injector for an evaluation.  Because of Botox's temporary nature you should see complete return to your pre-Botox state. For most patients, the length of time a neuromodulator such as Botox will last approximately 4 months.  There are some exceptions:  crows feet seem to recover in 2-3 months,  when fewer units are used for various reasons, the length of control will be shorter.   I also refer to the 'frequent flyer' effect of Botox, where patients who are consistent and regular Botox'ers, the length of time between injections seems to lengthen.  I think this is due to several reasons, including muscle atrophy and that over time your brain literally stops trying to move those muscles as it did before.  Adverse reactions such as horizontal brows or lid droop do happen now and then and fortunately they tend to correct themselves earlier that full Botox recovery.  These events should be reported or demonstrated to your injector as these will allow for adjustment of dose and placement of product.

Usually botox lasts about 4 months.  It may last a bit longer but should completely wear off by 6 months.

Botox typically lasts 3.5-4 months, and sometimes a bit longer. Side effects lasting more than 6 months would be almost unheard of. I'd want to compare to original photos. Make sure to inject with an expert injector, e.g. a dermatologist, to optimize results & minimize side effects.

It lasts about 4 months. I would look at pre treatment photos and compare. Often we forget where we started from. The results from Botox are temporary.

It is not that unusual that Botox will last that long and may be as long as 9 months. I doubt there is any nerve damage
