Lipo - 1 week post op and compression garment does not fit, can I change sizes? (Photos)

I recommend following up with your Doctor about getting a compression garment that fits. I have my patients wear customized compression for 3-6 weeks straight then overnight for 3-6 months after their procedure. For liposuction after care, I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus legacy for skin tightening, cellutone/z wave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. Every surgeon prefers a certain type of compression garment, and I always support following your surgeon's post-operative guidelines as he/she knows the extent of your surgery and how well you are recovering.   Suggest that you phone or email your plastic surgeon's patient coordinator for advice.Our office provides our lipo patients with an adjustable compression garment.  The  patients like the support it provides to the back and to the abdomen.  Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA

Gitana.   Short answer, yes! Your garment should be snug, but not too tight, but it appears that you certainly can change to a smaller garment. Check in with your plastic surgeon prior to making the change. Good luck.

Hello. Based on your photos, it does look like your compression garment is a little on the loose side. You should be able to switch to a slightly smaller size, but it’s best to check with your plastic surgeon first. Remember that while you do want your compression garment to fit snugly, you don’t want it to be so tight that it’s uncomfortable or restricting. Find a happy medium between too loose and too tight.

Based on your pictures, I can see that your garment is too big, and the purpose of it is to compress the body. You should probably change to a smaller size, but I suggest you to follow up close with your plastic surgeon.

Thank you for your question. We recommend garment snug not too tight . It is ok to change but I recommend you to talk to your PS for guidance

If your garment is too big by all means go to a smaller size to help maintain your compression.You won't hurt anything.
