Vermillion or VY? I would so appreciate another opinion (Photo)

Question

I had two consults regarding a lip lift, and absolutely certain I do not want bullhorn. One doctor suggested direct (vermillion) on upper, VY on lower, while the other surgeon said vermillion all the way. I would so appreciate another opinion.

As someone who has been doing lip lifts for ~ 30 years, I absolutely do not recommend direct lip lifts as it flattens the lips and create scar tissues around it and damages the lips irreversibly (I’ve treated those and they are very difficult cases). You would be a good candidate for FATMA, a procedure I developed for thin lips. (See link). It combines V-Y (procedure I also invented back in the days) with fat transfer. You can choose the volume of your lips with this technique and it can be combined with a lip lift.

Traditional bull horn lip lifts often removes too much centrally and not enough laterally. There is an extended version of it which pulls up the corners as well as centrally. I believe you would be an excellent candidate for that. It does 4 things: shortens the distance between your nose and upper lip, increases the mucosa of the upper lip, increases the incisor show and pulls up the corners.

I think bullhorn lip lifts can be great, but, for you another option is Ellacor.  Ellacor removes 5% or so of the upper lip skin and can be used to get a lip lift. It is also done without any stitches or scarring.  We should be able to lift your lips meaningfully with this.
