Hello, I was recently diagnosed with a gallstone but it isn't urgent enough to these drs to get removed asap. I have a bbl/lipo procedure scheduled and really don't want to cancel. Would this put me at risk ? Would this cause any complications during or after surgery? I am in a dilemma and know my health is important but have been preparing for this BBL for years.

Answer: BBL Having a gallstone does not necessarily mean that you have to cancel your BBL/lipo procedure, but it's important to discuss the situation with your plastic surgeon and your primary care doctor. The decision to proceed with surgery depends on the size of the gallstone, the presence of symptoms, and your overall health status. In some cases, small gallstones may not cause any problems and can be monitored over time. However, if you are experiencing symptoms such as abdominal pain, nausea, or vomiting, you may need to have your gallbladder removed before proceeding with any elective surgery. Additionally, it's essential to consider the potential risks of surgery when you have an underlying medical condition such as gallstones. Surgery and anesthesia can put additional stress on your body, which can increase the risk of complications such as bleeding, infection, or other adverse events. It's crucial to have an open and honest conversation with your plastic surgeon and your primary care doctor about your health status, concerns, and options. They can provide you with more specific recommendations based on your individual situation and help you make an informed decision about your surgery. In summary, having a gallstone does not necessarily mean that you have to cancel your BBL/lipo procedure, but it's important to discuss the situation with your doctors and weigh the risks and benefits of surgery carefully. Your health and safety should always be a top priority. I hope this helps, best of luck !

Answer: Gallstone and BBL? Great question. Any trauma like a serious surgery could initiate a gall bladder attack, it is a stressful event. Why not reschedule the BBL? Get the GB surgery ASAP. Then after 3-6 months ghave a safer BBL surgery.... Best to virtual with....Plus better to use a private practice boarded plastic surgeon whom has handled cases as yours then a clinic setting!
